"Alright!" exclaimed Alice, putting her makeup back in the box and turning me around in the chair. "We're done, Bella!"

I didn't open my eyes. I was afraid of what I was going to see. "I just hope Edward likes it," I muttered, turning my face away from the mirror and opening my eyes.

"Oh, he will! Now why won't you look in the mirror? Don't you trust me?" The look in her eyes was so forlorn and rejected that I just had to express a little kindness. I took one little peep in the mirror, only looking at my hairline, not really seeing anything.

"There, Alice. I looked. Are you happy?"

"Sure," she said solemnly. "Let's go."

As we descended the stairs, we realized the whole family was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, ready to go. Well, at least, I realized that. Alice probably already knew.

"Edward," Alice began, making a gesture displaying me like she was a game show hostess. "May I present... the beautiful... Isabella Swan!"

I absolutely flushed. Why was she making such a big deal out of this? Then again, she made a big deal out of everything.

I realized that this was not just some joke when Edward gasped slightly and came up to brush my cheek. "Bella? That doesn't look at all like you."

"Oh, no," I groaned. "What did she do to me?"

"Well, you know, if you'd looked in the mirror, you would thank me, not insult me. I made you absolutely perfect. Get used to it," Alice snapped. She glared at my insult.

"She did something to you alright..." Edward trailed off.

"What did she do?!" I rushed to the mirror that was mounted on the wall in the hallway. And gasped.

"I look..."

"Beautiful," Alice said, smirking through her perfect lips.

"Let's go," Emmett said, impatient once again.

"Yeah, really, people. I'm thirsty and Bella wants to go shopping!" Jasper exclaimed. Everyone looked at him in surprise. He usually wasn't that vocal.

But I just laughed lightly and strode over to where he was standing, letting him feel my overall amusement, and we walked out the door, shoulder to shoulder. I was still surprised at my black mascara, black eyeliner, white powder, red lips, and slight blush that actually made me look... good. I smiled to myself, amused that Bella Swan could look like that. We walked down the path to the garage where Jasper got in the driver's seat - me in the passenger's - and we waited for the others to get in the red convertible that made us look like movie stars.
