Godforsaken or paradise island

Hurley walked over to Sawyer, who was standing at the water basin filling up his bottles.

'Hey Sawyer.'

'Hey Hurley,' he mumbled back.

'Nice weather today on this godforsaken island, isn't it?' Hurley went on.

'Godforsaken island? What do want to ask?' Sawyer said a little annoyed, looking up.

'Nothing really, no nothing,' Hurley answered.

'All right then, see ya later,' Sawyer said walking away.

'He, Sawyer – Wait a sec!' Hurley said walking after Sawyer.

'Ok, now say what you want or either go away,' an irritated Sawyer replied.

'What do think of Libby?' Hurley asked fast.

'What I think of Libby…' Sawyer repeated.

'Yeah, you know, do think she's cool.'

'Do you like her?' Sawyer now asked smiling.

'That was not … I asked first!'

'All right then, if you answer my question after that. I reckon she's fine, nice girl.'

'Ok, thanks Sawyer. See you later, dude,' Hurley said quickly.

'Hey you didn't answer my question yet!' Sawyer yelled after Hurley's back. 'Weird dude he is. Godforsaken island, sure.'

----------

Hurley was filling his own water bottles this time at the water basin, when a voice spoke behind him.

'Hello Hurley.'

Hurley recognised the voice and turned around quickly.

'Hey, eh, Libby.'

'How are you doing under all the circumstances we have now?' she asked.

'Fine, I'm just fine I reckon,' Hurley said stuttering, feeling his face go pink.

'You reckon?' Libby repeated smiling.

'Yeah, just fine. How are you?'

'I'm fine too, thanks. What do you think of this island?'

'This godforsaken island? Bloody awful I reckon,' Hurley said.

'Really? I think it has something rather nice and special, but I must agree it is not the best place on earth,' Libby said still smiling.

'Oh,' was all Hurley could reply.

'Well, I'll see you around again then. Bye.'

'Yeah, see you.' Hurley said. Five minutes later, Hurley was still standing there, when he was tapped on the shoulder.

'Are you all right Hurley?' Jack asked.

'Yeah, I'm fine, still fine,' Hurley said, wondering why he kept saying that all the time and then walked away.

----------

'Hey Freckles,' Sawyer said, meeting Kate who was filling her water bottles at the water basin.

'I was doing fine, until you came here,' Kate replied.

'How nice of you,' Sawyer said sceptically.

'Thanks.'

'He, what do you reckon about Hurley and Libby?' Sawyer said throwing all the caution in the winds.

'Hurley and Libby…?' Kate repeated.

'Yeah Freckles, Romeo seems to like her. He told me himself,' Sawyer said.

'I doubt that fact that he told it to you, but why not, if he loves her, what's wrong with that?' Kate asked him curiously.

'Nothing I think, but it is kind of strange.'

'And why is that kind of strange?' Kate asked laughing.

'I don't know Hurley just doesn't seem the type.'

'He doesn't seem the type? God Sawyer, find a way to spend your time here, because you're not good at thinking about people. Goodbye Sawyer, I'll see you around.'

----------

'Hey Hurley!'

'Oh, hey.' Hurley said who was standing at a cliff looking at the sea.

'You don't sound that happy,' Libby said.

'Yeah, I'm not having one of my best days today.'

'Oh, pity.'

There fell a silence between them.

'Err, Hurley, could I ask you something?' Libby asked after a while.

'Sure,' he replied uninterested.

'You will have to look me in the eyes then,' Libby said.

Hurley turned around to face Libby now. However, instead of speaking, she kissed him.

'Is it going better now?' she asked him afterwards.

'Yeah, I reckon it is paradise island after all.'
