A/N: Only a OS ficlet. I was listening to the song as my CD payer decided it didn't want to play any of my other Nelly CD's. Can be put to any of the CSI characters but I had a certain one in mind lol.
He should have known better. People want what they cant have but once the initial rush is over it fades away leaving only memories. Memories can't keep you warm at night, nor can that ease the hurt of rejection when you finally realise the memories are all you have.
For years they had danced around each other, secret looks; smiles with more than one meaning but never letting it get any further than that.
How could he give her what she wanted?
Now, finally, he had been proved right, pity he had given her his affection first. Memories of the good times clashed with the ones of fresh betrayal.
She'd found someone new, replaced him when he no longer was a challenge. He couldn't take it. He couldn't go on not loving her.
The white pills rolled in his palm.
