"Sandra can we turn the fan off? It's freezing." Gerry asked grumpily as he rolled over to face Sandra who was fast asleep. He'd not yet got to sleep, he'd even changed to try to warm himself up but it wasn't working. Having checked that she was still fast asleep he decided enough was enough with the fan, Jack Frost had paid a visit outside but yet Sandra had insisted on having the fan on.

"Gerry, turn that back on or you're a dead man." Sandra awoke grumpily.

"You can't seriously be hot, it's blooming freezing." Gerry reasoned.

"Did I say I was hot? Get up and turn it on or you're on the sofa for the rest of the night."

"Fine." He replied giving into her, there was no way he was going to spend a night on the sofa where it was even colder and it made his back hurt. He was much happier in bed with Sandra, as he turned the fan back on he watched Sandra smile contently as she rolled back over wrapping the duvet firmly round herself.

"I knew you were cold, you had goose bumps down your arms."

"Stop moaning and put some more layers on and if you're that worried about my temperature come back to bed and cuddle me." Sandra moaned as her phone told her it was only 1 o'clock, a time she didn't wish to see and didn't want to see for much longer.

"How about I ditch the extra layers, turn the fan off and come back to bed?"

"The fan stays, if you don't like it you know where you can sleep. Now hurry up and decide because I have no desire to be awake any longer."

"Morning baby." Sandra said cheerily as she entered the kitchen.

"Morning." Gerry said grumpily as he sat with a big mug of coffee in front of him.

"You don't look so great, what's up?"

"I have had no sleep, I'm exhausted because of your blooming fan."

"What's wrong with it?"

"It's freezing Sandra. I mean look outside and everything's white and you have a fan on full blast it makes no sense."

"It makes sense to me."

"You're going to have to explain because I'm really not following."

"I need that fan on to sleep."

"I understand that on hot days but its the middle of winter baby."

"You think I don't know that?"

"Well explain then."

"I can't. You'll think I'm mad."

"I already do Sandra, what can be more mad than cooling a freezing room down even further?"

"I don't have it onto cool the room down."

"Well a fan serves no other purpose."

"I like the noise okay, it's relaxing."

"White noise you mean?"

"I suppose."

"That's not weird Sandra, it's common."

"I can't sleep without it."

"Baby you can get CDs of those type of things, then I might be able to sleep too."

"And a CD wouldn't bother you?" She asked worrying that it was always only going to be one of them asleep at a time.

"No, I used to have them same problem. It'll be fine, I could sleep for Britain now a days but only if the temperatures right."

"Sorry, I would have explained last night but I just wanted to sleep."

"So did I." Gerry replied. "How about we go out and look for some sleep aid music and then come back so I can sleep for a couple of hours?"

"Sounds good. I really am sorry about last night though."
