"Here," he said as he put something in her palm, and closed her hand into fist around it, "I was cleaning my apartment the other day and found it. I kinda figured you'd might like it, but I have no idea why."

She looked down at her closed hand, then looked back up at the teenage esper before her. His smile wasn't the usually cheery mask he wore, it seemed like a true smile. She had no idea what to say. He gave a small nod, and began to walk home. She continued to watch him until she could no longer see him. She then looked down at her hand, still curled into a fist. She opened it up, and saw a small butterfly shaped pin. The jewels were held together with gold-like metal, and they shined in pales hues of blue, purple, pink, orange, and yellow. It had a vintage look to it, and she did actually kind of like the way it looked.

For some reason, she could swear that she heard a song playing in the distance, somewhere above her. It didn't sound Japanese, so it must've been foreign. Actually, it was quite catchy. She turned and began to walk back to her apartment, listening carefully to the lyrics of the song. She didn't really understand it, but it seemed like more then a song. Carefully, she pinned the butterfly to her sweater.

Meanwhile, the esper who had given her the butterfly had also heard the song. He understood some of the lyrics, but only a few phrases stood out. He knew exactly what they meant, and smiled. It wasn't the usual cheerful mask he wore, it was a true smile. He continued to smile as he hummed along to the tune of the song.

A/N: I got the idea for this from a pin that my mom-mom gave me, which looks exactly like the pin in the story. Oh, and I got the song from a I..N. video on YouTube (Its called "Itsuki's Alien" and its by Bluey306), and thought it was perfect. So the song (My Alien-Simple Plan) plus the butterfly pin are my inspiration. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!

Oh, and just to let you know, I'm the one who played the song when they heard it while walking home. Evil me, I'm like Cupid!
