Chapter 1 Straw-hat Pirates
Today is starting just as any regular day in Fairy Tail would go for our beloved Celestial Spirit Mage, but that's all about to change for Lucy. She came into the guild wearing black knee length shorts, a pink turtle neck, black combat boots, and wearing her usual belt holding her whip and keys while her hair was let down. She went over to talk to Levy.
"Hey Levy." Lucy greeted.
"Lu-Lu! Hi!" said Levy, running up and hugging her friend.
"Have you seen Natsu or the others anywhere? We're supposed to discuss what S-class mission we'll be taking tomorrow." Lucy said, looking happy and confident from the sound of taking a S-class job.
"S-class!? Good job Lu-Lu. I think I saw them good outside to the back of the guild." Levy said, gesturing in the said direction.
After thanking Levy, Lucy went out to the back like she was told. When she reached the back, she starting hearing voices. When she saw her group of friends, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Happy, Wendy, and Charla, and hearing her name being mentioned, she chose to hide in some bushes near by to at least be aware of the conversation.
"Do you guys really think this right?" Wendy asked sheepishly.
"Of course, we all know how sensitive Lucy can be." said Erza. Lucy felt a little hurt that she was just called sensitive, but she reassured herself by telling herself it was coming from someone as tough as Erza and continued listening.
"But this pretty rough, I mean, lying to her about not going on the mission?" said Natsu. Lucy suddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart. It sounded like they were saying she was too weak to handle an S-class mission. Small tears came to the brink of eyes, but she continued to listen to her friends, likely hoping they'd say they were wrong.
"We all know she'd be in too much danger if we brought her along. We're doing this for her sake." Gray said.
"I...I guess you're right. I'd hate seeing her get hurt." Natsu mumbled.
"Aye. I want to help Lucy be safe too." Happy said.
"Agreed. Lucy is quite too fragile." said Charla.
"Then we all agree. We'll make up something to tell Lucy so she won't come along with us." Erza decided.
Lucy's face became pale as she felt her heart sink completely. The tears began to flow like waterfalls by that time. She took off running back to her apartment to avoid her being found out by Natsu and Wendy because of her tears and their sense of smell. Lucy wasn't even going on the ledge like she usually was.
"Dammit, dammit, dammit! I was so stupid!" Lucy angrily thought.
When she got home, she slammed the shut behind her and locked it. She wiped everything off of her desk except for a picture of her and Team Natsu. She grabbed it and threw it at the wall, causing the frame to crack and most of the glass to shatter. Lucy threw herself onto her bed, crying into her pillow.
"Why? Why does everyone think I need help or protecting?" Lucy thought. She clenched her fists tightly and gritted her teeth. She slowly began to sit up straight on her bed while wiping her tears away.
"This is no time to be crying, Lucy." she said to herself. She looked at her broken picture of her team with a determined look in her eye.
"If they think I'm so helpless, I'll prove them wrong." Lucy said.
She got up and grabbed a bag full of jewels and left her apartment. She went to a magic shop to by something that she has had her eye on for a long while. When she got there, she immediately went to the back. There, she saw what she was looking for. A small katana sword that was as long as her fore arm and it had a dark blue handle with a blood red sheath. Lucy grabbed it and took it to the counter.
"Excuse me, I'd like to buy this sword." Lucy said to the person behind the counter.
"Oh, the unbreakable katana. You have a good eye. That will be 30,000 jewels." said the store owner.
Without saying anything, Lucy placed the amount of jewels needed on the counter and took off with her new sword. She went back to her apartment and waited until it was night. When it was, she left and went to the guild. She quietly opened the guild doors to see everyone inside either passed out or asleep. Lucy tip toed to the second floor and saw the S-class board, or at least the outline of it.
"Sorry Natsu, I'm stealing one from your play book." Lucy whispered before ripping a random job off of the board since it was so dark. She then quickly dashed out of the guild and back to her apartment. After coming home, she took a look at the job she 'stole'.
WANTED: STRAW-HAT LUFFY
DEAD OR ALIVE
REWARD: 300,000,000 BERRIES
"Berries? Must be money from where this is from." Lucy mumbled. Before getting ready to leave, she wrote a note to her team about what she's done and where she went. Lucy then packed some clothes, food, and tied her new weapon around her waist.
"Ok, how do I get to where this guy is?" said Lucy while looking at the paper.
LOCATION: GRAND LINE
"The grand line? That's that dangerous sea that circled the world. Luckily, I have a way to get there." said Lucy. She searched through her desk for at least a minute before she found two special keys that she got that lets her travel anywhere once. Stashing away the other key, she put the other key in front of her and it started glow.
"TRANSPORT KEY: STRAW HAT LUFFY'S SHIP." Lucy chanted.
Suddenly, a blue line was made in the air, it slowly opening up to become a massive blue portal. Lucy smiled in satisfaction while throwing the now powerless key onto her bed. She made sure she had everything she needed and took a deep before stepping into the portal. It closed behind her immediately.
Unknown place on Grand Line*
The same portal opened up above a pirate ship deck and out came Lucy. She was able to gracefully land on the deck as the portal closed shut. It was still night time, but with all the stars and the moon out, she could see around herself clearly. She saw that she was standing on grass and that there was even a tree on the deck. Looking up, Lucy soon spots the tall main mast, the signature black flag with a skull and crossbones with a straw hat on it being on the top.
"Ok, I'm definitely not in Fiore anymore." said Lucy.
