I walked out to my car and smiled to myself, in a few short hours Id be seeing the love of my life again. It's been quite some time since I laid eyes on him, since I have spent the night in his arms while he hums my lullaby softly in my ear. When we graduated high school, we knew that it would be hard to handle the distance but I figured we'd work it all out in the end. We're in love, that's enough to make it last, right? Sighing happily I sat down in the seat and turned my car on, once the engine started to purr, I pulled out of my driveway to start the long drive to NYU.

We applied to the same schools but apparently I wasn't NYU material, Edward offered to stay behind and go to the local school with me but I just wouldn't have that. I couldn't let him ruin his future for me, even when he goes and dazzles me frequently by saying "but baby YOU are my future." Finally putting my foot down, he packed his belongings up and left me standing there with silent tears rolling down my face.

Hours had passed by with the car filled with an off silence, not being used to sitting in silence I turned my iPod on and "Break My Heart" by Nolan Gerard Funk came on. Starting to softly sing along, I smiled to myself once I turned on to the exit that I knew would soon bring me to my love. Glancing around I pulled into the parking lot and parked near his building. Turning the car off and throwing my bag over my shoulder, I climbed out of my car and locked it. I checked my appearance in my side view mirror and slowly walked up the stairs to the main door. Opening the door and peeking inside, I noticed that no one was around and that the front desk was empty. Man, I thought at least someone could point me in the right direction. I walked back towards the front door and noticed a directory listing the current students and where they were staying.

Black, Jacob-3A

Clark, Allen-7c

Cullen, Edward-5B

I quickly found Edwards listing and walked over to the elevator, pressing the up button and tapping my foot impatiently against the marble floors. Finally the doors opened and I walked into the cramped little elevator and pressed the fifth floor. The doors closed and I was quickly delivered to the fifth floor. Once the elevator doors had opened I dashed down the hall until I found his room. Biting down on my lip I knocked on the door and waited to hear the footsteps but was disappointed to hear nothing. Knocking once more, I sighed and just opened the door and poked my head in.

Great he's not here. I drove all of this way to be let down, should have called first. I sat down on the leather couch and waited for about five minutes when I heard a faint thumping against the wall. Looking around I wondered where that sound was coming from, thump thump, there It was again. I walked over to what I hoped was a bedroom and knocked, once again I was met with silence. I brought my hand up to knock again when the door was ripped open and I was met with a pissed off Edward.

Pushing past him and standing before the bed, I turned on my heel and walked up to him and pushed him against the wall and slapped him across the face. I sighed and whispered "I hope she was worth the pain that you just caused me."
