Special Sign
Atop the blistering cold the red-eyed trainer blinks at the blue-haired girl in front of him. Shooting the yellow rodent perched on his shoulder a pleading glance, Pikachu shrugs noncommittally and scampers away to their cave haven. Forced to cast his gaze back into the depths of her marine irises, he sighs. A slight frown etches itself upon her petite features as her nose darkens to ruby. Kotone speaks quietly, albeit flustered, "Red, as your best girl friend and the only one who makes the darn trek up this mountain everyday, I demand an answer. What does that sign mean? You know, the one where you cross your arms over the center of your chest and then point at me. After knowing you for three year I understand almost everything you sign, except that."
The mute master permits a minuscule smile to grace his normally stoic face. He grasps her hand within his own calloused ones. Blushing a delicate pink, warm breath trickles past her rosy lips as she allows herself to be dragged along. Upon reaching an icy evergreen, Red reaches up and snatches a chilled stick. Still clutching her smooth fingers, he gesticulates into the powdery snow with the stick. After finishing, he nods at Kotone and then motions with his unoccupied hand at the message he wrote. A bright smile blooms as she silently reads the words, 'I love you,' in his scrawly handwriting.
