Silence blanketed the small street of Privet Drive. The full moon shone
through the misty white clouds. A teenage boy lay on his bed with jet black
hair. A scar on his forehead revealed his identity to the world. He stared
non-focused up at the ceiling.
"Just two more days and I'll be back where I belong," thought Harry. A snowy white owl appeared at the window. Harry got up and unhooked the window to let Hedwig in. He had several letters in his beak. They were from Sirius, Hermione and Ron.
Ron, Hermione, and Sirius letters
Dear Harry, We will be there tomorrow to pick you up. Be ready by noon. Ron
Dear Harry, I hope you had a decent summer. See you at school! Hermione
Dear Harry, I can't wait to see you. Call if you need me. Padfoot
Harry grinned in satisfaction. He couldn't wait to see his friends and godfather again. Hedwig landed on his shoulder nipping gently at his ear. He petted her and returned the owl to her perch.
Harry wandered around his room trying to find his possessions. It wasn't long before he had packed everything in his trunk. He finally fell into his bed and drifted off to sleep.
"Potter get down here NOW!" yelled uncle Vernon. Harry hurriedly got dressed and ran down the steps. He found Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Dudley watching television.
"Where is my breakfast?" asked Uncle Vernon from the couch.
"I'll have it done in a few minutes sir," said Harry.
By noon the Dursley's had gone to the mall. Harry was sitting on his bed waiting anxiously. As the long hand on the clock hit noon, a car was heard backing into the drive way. Harry got up and saw Mrs. Weasley. She had a set of keys in her hands. The keys jangled as she searched the bunch for a small silver one. She inserted it into the keyhole and surprisingly the lock clicked allowing her access to the house.
Harry got his trunk and Hedwig's cage and stepped toward the door. The lock clicked and the door opened slowly. Mrs. Weasley popped her head through.
"Thank goodness you're alright Harry," she said as they embraced.
"What is that thing?" Harry asked pointing to the keys in her hand.
"These keys can open virtually any door, except magically locked things," said Mrs. Weasley. "Here Harry I'll get your trunk for you," said Mrs. Weasley. She flicked her wand and the trunk and Hedwig's cage levitated in front of her. Harry found no one to be in the car.
"The others are busy cleaning up the house Harry dear," said Mrs. Weasley.
She started the car up and drove down the street. At the corner she took a sharp right into an alley. She then pushed the invisibility button and flew into the sky. Harry sat and thought about the summer.
