Authors notes: Before you start reading this you most know that the characters are Chibi!Canada and England.
Hetalia doesn't belong to me.
Doesn't want to listen
He stays silent listening to the older man speak. He tries to interject his own opinion, but doesn't get out a syllable before the man keeps talking as if the boy had not tried at all to speak. After several unsuccessful attempts he grows tired of the man's intellectual babble. He finds what the older man has to say hard to grasp and useless in his everyday life. He shifts back and forth on his heels, a visible sign he is tired of listening.
When given the chance to speak he tries to relate the things the man has told him to things he understands. The older man visibly shows his exasperation, his tone of voice changes to one that is whiny and critical. Everything the boy tries to say is somehow all wrong. He lets the man continue his speech.
The lecture drowns on and the boy begins to tone it out in favor of thinking about what he would rather be doing. He nods the man on, pretending he found what he has to say entertaining. The boy takes a few side steps closer to the door of the man's study, hinting that he has elsewhere to be. The man doesn't notice. The boy announces that he has other things to do and the man just keeps speaking.
The boy continues to patiently listen. The man appears to be done with his speech so the boy gives a try at telling him about something fun he did, but the boy doesn't get the first sentence out before the man tells him that he has more important matters to attend to and that he will listen to him later. The boy bits his lower lip; it hurts every time the man says that to him because he's grown to know it's a lie. It will be the same routine the next time he tries to talk to him.
The boy darts from the room without a word. He finds a place to hid and read a book or scribble away on a piece of paper until the thought of what he wanted to share is completely gone from his mind. He wants to be heard, but the man doesn't want to listen so the boy won't try to tell him anything at all.
The boy won't tell him when he's sad because he doesn't fit in with the other children and he won't tell the man when he feels ill. He won't even tell the man when he doesn't want to exist anymore because the man doesn't want to listen.
Author's notes: This is based on my relationship with my own relationship with my father.
Sorry this was so short, but thank you for reading. Would you tell me what you think?
