A/N: This is just an idea I had while I was talking to a friend of mine. I like it, don't know if you will. It's a oneshot. I know it's short but yeah…
Disclaimer: Whatever, I don't own it, yada yada yada…
Tonks sat on the cold bathroom floor, tears streaming down her face. Today her hair was short and black and hanging limply, it had been that way for weeks now, since the war had ended.
She couldn't believe it, how could Dan be dead? He was actually gone; he had left the world. He had left her to fend for herself. She would never see him again. Tonks had been sure he was the one.
When she saw his body fall, when she heard the cold laugh of his killer, her world had come crashing down. She couldn't bear to live without Dan. She could see it now, he had been fighting so bravely, he had just stunned Lucius Malfoy, then his wand had flown out of his hand, he whirled around, to face a woman with long black hair, and cold dark eyes. She grinned evilly, and then hissed those two lethal words.
The war was over; Bellatrix Lestrange had murdered her one and only love. More than ever she wanted to get out; she wanted to join Dan, to find him. But she also wanted to avenge Dan's death, to kill Bellatrix Lestrange. The witch who had killed her second cousin and now the man she loved.
She brushed away a tear and tipped the contents of the pill bottle into her mouth, she swallowed them down, hating herself for living through the war. Her world went dark, fading rapidly; she hit the cold tiled floor with a thud.
Remus knocked on the door, he knew she would be home; she had refused to go anywhere after the war had ended. She did not answer; he knocked loudly again. Still no answer. He looked in through the window; there was nothing there.
He pulled out his wand and muttered 'Alohamora.' The lock clicked and he pushed the door open, he walked down the hall; he looked in the bedroom and the living room, then he checked the bathroom; there she was, lying motionless on the floor. Her face was deathly white. He crouched down and frantically checked for a pulse. Her heart was still pulsing, but it was slow and fading.
He grabbed his wand and said 'waskila poyt.' Tonks stirred, her eyes flew open. She coughed and spluttered than sat up, but not for long. She collapsed into Remus' arms, she couldn't bear it, why was she alive? Why wouldn't he let her die? This wasn't the way it was meant to be.
She leant into his chest and breathed in deeply, Remus was making her feel safe, like harm couldn't reach her here in his arms. A tear ran down her cheek, she closed her eyes and begged silently for someone to love her once more.
