How to Write a Story like James Patterson

Follow these easy steps to write a story like James Patterson:
Step 1: Make your characters. They must be mutants and be named Max and/or some other cool name. If you can't think of any cool mutants and cool names, you may rip them from the X-Men comics. It's not like anyone will realise that the character that can fly and is called Angel is not original!
Step 2: Make your plot. Or whatever you call it. While you are at it, write it from the main character's point of view! They should be running away from an evil general, army guy or whatever! And there must be more of them! If people say that you are ripping off other movies/comics, they're just jealous!
Step 3: Who is your villain? They should know the main character because otherwise, why else would they be trying to kill the main character?
Step 4: So what about the ending? You should just say that they are still on the run, but you can't kill off any of the good characters because the world just works that way. Then have a sequel to your series afterward to keep the fans waiting!
