Chapter 1: Memories
Running. That's all she could do. The pain from her eye was driving her to near insanity. She could hear the fight behind her. Why had her father gone mad like that? Was she dreaming? Did he really slaughter her mother? What was of her sister? Why had her father attacked them all? Who were the mysterious people who saved her? Was her father dead yet? She reached a hand up and touched her eye. Blood streamed over her hand. It was nighttime. Her father had been gone for a long period of time, and then he came home. Her mother immediately ran forward and wrapped her arms around her father. He shoved his claws through her stomach and ripped her apart. Her twin sister, so gentle and pure, tried to run past him, but he caught her with his arm and knocked her back. He went after the girl, and her sister jumped in the way as father brought down a massive claw. She dropped to the ground. The other girl jumped, but the father caught her with his other hand, clawing at her eye. She kicked him, but to no prevail. She saw a light out the door, and a large chain and blade wrap around her father. Someone shouted to her as her father fell back. She ran out the nearest window and into the forest.
These images relayed through the young girl's mind. Would she ever be free of the torment? She continued running, running from her problems. She tripped over a root and fell. Was it even worth getting up from? Was her life worth it anymore?
"Hakkai, go find the other girl...this one will be fine. She's just unconscious," a blonde haired man in a priest's robe said, picking up a young woman with dark red hair in his arms. The white dress the girl was wearing was soaked with blood. A large muscular man lay cut in half in the middle of the floor.
"It's very sad..." a man with brown air and a monocle said, stepping toward the door and to a jeep, "come on Hakuryu...take that road there. She ran off in this direction.." The jeep chirped and turned down the road. "Hakuryu, turn on the lights would you? We could have ran over her by now," the man laughed.
