A/N: For those of you who like Maximum Ride, I wrote a one-shot about Ari loving Max when they all were still at the School. Before Jeb betrayed Ari and abandoned him for Max and her flock.
Loving Her from the Sidelines
Ari POV
As she was being brought away to be tested on, I saw her face. She looked scared, but still beautiful. In fact, she always looked beautiful. I was jealous of her though. She was beautiful and got all my father's attention.
If only she would love me back the way I love her, maybe even the way my father loved her. But it seemed that her heart was filled. She was too preoccupied with the rest of her friends, like Nudge, Angel, Iggy, Fang, and Gasman. She cared for them, cared about them, never even acknowledging me. I could see and I knew, even if she didn't know, that in her heart, she loved Fang.
I saw her face one more time before she was led away by a white-coat, she looked scared, worried, and possibly terrified. I wanted to save her from those white-coats; her beautiful face needn't be scared or worried. I wanted to erase all her worries. In the world, it could just be her and me, me and her. We'd be alone, peaceful, blissful. How many times I've imagined this scenario. We could run away, leave all of this stupid, scary stuff behind.
Maximum Ride and Ari Batchelder, alone in the world, surrounded by blissful oblivion.
