"You were going to cast a spell to take away my LUST?" she asked in a deceivingly calm voice, belying the pain evident in her eyes. She searches the man's face for an answer, looking into his eyes, anything to shed light on what exactly was going on.
She sighs and looks to the wall where the spells and runes were at. She closes her eyes in pain, willing herself not to cry. She sighs and looks to the man again.
"You were doing this for Misa, weren't you? Saving all your … passion … for her, that you don't want me even touching you." Silence. She chuckles - a humorless sound. "I see."
Still nothing from him. No reaction, no response. He just stands there, looking at her. She looks at the under garments carefully hanging on the footboard of the bed. Expensive underwear. Underwear that wasn't hers. She closes her eyes in pain, knowing of the affair and knowing SHE let it get this far.
"We both know I know of your daily lunch-time rendezvous with Misa … but to take it this far? I didn't realize she meant THAT much to you … " she trails off, not knowing how to finish. Still nothing. She closes her eyes and takes a deep, calming breath.
She walks up to her husband, touches his face, and gives him a peck on the cheek. She takes a step back, a hand still caressing his cheek, and looks into his eyes. She smiles a sad smile at him, shakes her head and turns away. She heads for the door, not expecting him to say or do anything.
She stops at the threshold, and turns to look at him one last time, and says "You don't need to cast that spell. I won't come to you again." Turning to leave, she stops as she hears a whispered "Why?"
Without looking back, she answers him, "I was never in LUST with you … lust had nothing to do with me wanting you. I ALWAYS made LOVE to you. The spell wouldn't have worked anyway – so save your energy."
She walks out the door, softly closing the door behind her, leaving the man she loves – and her heart – behind.
