Attack of the undead?!
She couldn't remember when the first cases were made public and the outbreak officially announced- quite frankly she didn't want to. Over time many had made theories; all conspiracies, stories really. Some went crazy claiming it was all a lie, a dream, an illusion.
She, however, knew it wasn't...
Although she may have known it was real, she didn't know how it started or why but, Hell be damned, she would find out.
Even if it cost her life...
Walking through the apocalyptic city, she allowed memories to run through her mind. They each burdened her; like lead running through her veins, heavy. Waves of sorrow and pain washed over her as hot sticky tears followed- much like the foam that accompanies the tide. Trudging through the city her eyes scanned the area for possible dangers. Her vision became hazy as more tears threatened to spring from her eyes. It was then she noticed them falling, salty and bitter on her soft pink lips, pulled tightly into a line. A single swift movement brought her hand up to her face wiping the tears away as they rolled down her reddened skin. Thin fingers swept under her eyes and patted her cheeks as she paused in an attempt to gather some composure.
Taking a final glance around the area, she almost wanted to laugh at the irony of it all. At the place that once welcomed her with such open arms now seeming so cold and unwelcoming, looking as though it could have never brought anyone anything but fear, let alone joy!
Almost forgetting the task at hand, she shuffled through the what could only be described as chaotic bar. She laughed 'Not that it looked any better when they were all here anyway!' She allowed herself to smile- properly smile- for the first time in what seemed like years. But not before more tears spilled from her wide brown eyes. Falling from her long eyelashes, dripping down her face. Furiously, she wiped them away- her hands now balled into fists. Yet through all this she remained quiet.
She had to make sure they wouldn't come for her.
That's when she remembered him (not like she could ever forget him, even if she tried). And how he didn't like it when she cried. He would always ask, "Who do I need to beat up this time?" she, as always, would smile. Despite her tears she would reply as calmly as she could- telling him she was fine- but he'd always know and go and do it anyway. But how could he beat up the entire universe and all of them? Everything seemed against her yet she managed. No one could escape unharmed though. Physically speaking she was fine, mentally, however, was a different matter.
No one was fine anymore.
And she was certainly not okay.
She was not an exception...

A/N This is a one-shot so far but I kinda feel like adding some more chapters, not sure though- if I do it'll probably be Nalu. What? It's good for the soul!
