A/N: I've always wondered about Meggan and her overfondness of television. This is just a one-shot of what she may have been thinking one day. This is my my very first one shot, so

Disclaimer: I own nothing from Marvel ( I wish, but sadly, this was never meant to be)

Meggan Braddock was watching television. This was something she hadn't done in quite a while. And that was definitely saying somethinkg for the shape-shifting empath. But today had been especially tedious, so she figured that one program wouldn't hurt...

Or two. Or three. A very interesting marathon was playing today.

3 hours later

Maybe she'd turn it off after this interesting film that was coming up next...

"Oh dear", Meggan sighed. She had hoped she would have been strong enough to turn it off. But having noting to do for a good percentage of your life but watch television could do that to a person. Make you somewhat addicted to it, that is.

Most people hardly believed her when she told them that little detail about her. But then again, those people had never been contained in their parents' camper, afraid of how the rest of the community would react to their little girl's appearance. Perhaps if her shape-shifting powers hadn't been so sensitive to her surroundings, then maybe she would have been born looking like a normal baby instead of a furry were-child.

Meggan knew that she couldn't have helped it. The telly was her only means of discovering the world. Seeing it through the eyes of people and mutants. Witnessing it through the point of view of racists and bigots. How often had she heard the term "mutant menace" during the morning, midday, evening, and late night news?

She hardly knew very much about it then, but it was the way that people said the word "mutant" that always got her attention. The ways in which they were described, how they were looked upon, the catcalls, and jeers and threats that
spewed from the angry mobs she'd witnessed from in front of the glass screen.

But the telly wasn't all bad.

Meggan knew of all the good things mutants had done. Not just mutants, but meta humans as well. The lives they had saved and the sacrifices that they made each day. All for a world who despised them.

As a young girl, she would dream about flying among the clouds, rescuing those who needed help, and having awesome superpowers and being beautiful. Everyone would adore her...

Then she would wake up.

Meggan realized, however, that the majority of her childhood fantasies had become a blessed reality. Sure, there had been an abundance of difficulties and tribulations, but what lifetime did not?

A sudden loud blaring from the telly jarred her from her thoughts. The film was about to begin.

Meggan sighed again. "Oh well, she mused. I may as well go and get a snack" The elemental got up off of the huge futon in the media room and flew off to a nearby kitchen.

Yes, the telly wasn't so horrible at all.

In fact, if not for television, she never would have discovered her beloved Brian.

(A/N: Love it? Hate it? R&R si'l vous plait!! Flames shall be extinguished with my tears. jk, i'll just work harder!

It's Braddock Manor, everyone! There has got to be more than one kitchen!!)
