Massie woke up to her barking alarm clock, refreshed and ready for whatever life had to throw at her. She slowly rolled out of her new purple Calvin comforter, the color of royalty, and walked slowly to her bathroom. As she was brushing her teeth, her phone began vibrating. Bzz, bzz, bzz.
"Ugh," she finally said after rinsing. "Does ANYONE know how early it is?" she said aloud. After she put in Jakkob's recommended leave-in conditioner, ("It makes any healthy hair shine more!") she then went to her closet. There, on her mannequin, was her fresh back-from-spring-break outfit. It wore a lime green Calvin mini, a white button up cap sleeve blouse from Ralph Lauren, something she had bought with Alicia, a light yellow vest from Chanel, and bright red Mary Jane ballet flats. She had tried the outfit the night before, and she thought it looked ah-dorable with her new spray tan.
By the time she was about to leave, her phone vibrated again. She had forgotten about the early disturbance. It read:
447-3884: Ready for school, miss popularity?
Massie gasped. She looked around the room for a little camera or device of some kind, thinking it was Todd, Claire's ah-noying little brother. She would deal with him later.
As she went down for breakfast, which was eggs benedict, courtesy of Inez, her phone vibrated. Massie half-expected it to be from the random texter. Instead, it was from Alicia.
Alicia: Hey, girl! Hope ur as psyched as I am 2 go wow ocd!
Massie: U bet! got my hot clothes and gr8 hair dayyy
Alicia: kk sweetz b at my houz in 20 min?
Massie: sure
After eating two bites, Massie walked outside so Isaac, who was leaning against the limo, would pick up the PC. The second she got in the limo, her phone buzzed.
447-3884: Have fun at school, new buddy!
Whoever was texting her, it was getting quite ah-noying. It was time to find out who this was.
"Isaac, hurry so we can pick everyone up. I have to talk to the teacher about a science test on Wednesday," Massie lied. She couldn't care less about some stupid test. There were more important things to do.
Alicia Rivera sat in her driveway, waiting for Massie to arrive. If she doesn't come in 30 seconds, my hair is going to frizz like a balloon, Alicia thought to herself. Right then, Isaac's limo pulled into the driveway.
"Thank Gawd, I thought you were never going to show up. My hair is frizzing like mad!" Alicia exclaimed as she threw her arms around the alpha.
"Yeah, well, somebody is texting me and they won't leave me alone! In the limo, they sent me at least ten messages. It's starting to make me crazy, I swear." Massie said quickly.
"Lemme see," Alicia said, grabbing hold of Massie's phone in a hurry. As she scrolled through the texts, she recognized the number. Alicia's mouth formed a flawless 'O'.
"Ehmagawd, LAYNE?" Alicia shouted.
"What? That's impossible. How do you know Layne's phone number in the first place?" Massie said, half-expecting it to be a joke.
"Claire's phone! IwasscrollingthroughherphonebookyouknowtoseeifshehadCam'snumberstillinthere andIsawLayne'snameandphonenumber!!!!!"
"WHAT??!?! So you're saying insane Layne is stalking me?" Massie bit her full lips.
"I think so, Mass, I think so." Alicia whispered.
Before they picked up Kristen, Massie applied about six coats of Green Apple Glossip Girl, so furious she was gritting her teeth until they hurt. Layne? She thought. If this kept going on, Layne was going to wish she was lower than she already was.
