Blessed by Death
Full Summary: Every century, the Shinigami chooses a recently deceased mortal to be its host. During the Kyuubi's sealing, it happened to be the time for the god of death to pick a new body. Because of the barrier seal, Kushina Uzumaki was the only choice when the Yondaime performed the Shiki Fujin. As the new Shinigami, Kushina is able to see her son's future and grants Naruto a new bloodline and power over darkness to protect himself from Konoha and others who wanted to harm him.

Prologue
Konohagakure
"Shiki Fujin!"
After saying their final message to their son, Minato finished the jutsu to finally seal the Kyuubi into Naruto. After the successful sealing, Minato allowed himself to be pulled into the stomach of the Shinigami. However, he did not expect his wife to be pulled as well.
Minato, Kushina, and Naruto were the only people inside the barrier. Those who were outside could not see what was happening. Hiruzen, however, knew that his successor performed the kinjutsu to finally stop the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox from rampaging. Nobody from the outside knew what exactly happened to Kushina. They only knew that she died due to the stress after giving birth.
Naruto's Mindscape
The cries of the infant echoed throughout the tunnels of the mindscape. A tall, beautiful orange haired woman wearing a kimono walked towards the crying infant. This woman had nine orange tails. As she picked him up, the whiskered boy stopped crying and snuggled against the demoness, feeling her warmth.
The woman immediately shielded the baby as she sensed another presence in the boy's mind.
"Kurama."
"Shinigami-sama?" The fox woman asked.
"Yes." The voice replied as its owner finally stepped out of the mindscape's shadows.
Kurama gasped as she saw her former host.
"Kushina…" Trailed off the demoness. "I'm sorry. I did not mean it."
"Shhh, it is alright, Kurama. I knew that you were under control. Everything that has happened tonight was caused by a single person. When his time comes, he will have a special place in the world of the dead. Those who mess around with demons do not go unpunished."
Kurama nodded and allowed her former host to carry the infant.
Naruto squirmed in delight as he felt his biological mother's presence. He snuggled closer and slept peacefully.
Kushina shed some tears as she watched her son sleep. She was watching the future and saw how her little Naruto would be treated for being the container of the Kyuubi. After some time, she finally kissed the baby's forehead and murmured some words.
The infant's small body got covered by a gray transparent aura. The mist lingered for a few moments before it disappeared. Kushina handed her son to Kurama before saying goodbye.
"Kurama. I gave Naruto a new dojutsu and powers over darkness. He will not be awakening it until he becomes six. I have altered your seal so you will not be locked up in a cage while you're in here. You may take over his body whenever he is in danger. I have seen his future and saw how Konoha treated him. I will visit you from time to time. For now, I must return to my realm. Take care of my Naruto-kun."
Kurama nodded as the Shinigami left the mindscape. She gently rocked the baby as he stirred on his sleep.
"Sleep well, Naruto-kun. From now on, I will be your mother until you're ready to meet her."

1. This is still an anti Konoha story like my other fics.
2. Kushina and Kurama had a good relationship while she was still sealed inside her. They treated each other as sisters. Instead of hating, Kurama learned to respect and admire the Uzumaki Clan since they were descendants of the Sage.
