Gwen looked through the window of her car. She was on her way to her new house, finally. She's been waiting for so long to be on her own, without her mother's nagging. The freedom of independence. She breath down the air. "New house, new start", she thought to herself.

Finally, she reached her new building. It was really tall, about 20 floors, and it was built about 5 ago. All the apartments had a small porch, which was the reason she picked this house. She just knew it would be fun to sit there and paint alone. The moving truck, with all of her stuff, followed her and stopped. Then they started moving her things upstairs, and Gwen, being the feminist she is, wasn't about to miss on the action.

"I can help you with that'', she said to one of the moving guys who carried the sofa. He sure was surprised, but he wasn't about to argue with her. She gave them quite the trouble when they refused to let her help before. They went up the elevator to the top floor, to apartment number 20C. When she entered inside she couldn't help but smile. This is her place. It was kind of empty right now, and she knew she still has to paint over some of the walls, but it was hers. And she loved it.

After about a few hours of moving stuff up and down, when she couldn't feel her arms anymore, and after a short call to her mom to let her know everything's alright, she paid the moving men and sat down on her bed. She needed a rest. It was kind of late anyway.

The next morning, she woke up and was surprised to realize she fell asleep without noticing. She had a quick shower and breakfast, and was going to go for a tour around town, when she heard a knock on the door. "Who could that be?", she asked herself. With much annoyance, she opened the door. And there he was. She recognized him immediately. Trent.

He was shocked as well. "Uh... Hi. I came here to welcome my new neighbor. Didn't know it was you'', he said. She looked at him silently. He didn't change much. His voice was a little lower and it seems his been working out since. He wore a leather jacket with a green shirt underneath, dark blue jeans and green sport shoes.

After a long moment of silence, she said: "Well... How are you?" He shrugged his shoulders and said: "OK, I guess. Got my own band right now. We mostly show at bars, but I'm hoping someday we'll have a demo". He looked into her eyes as she listened to him. "Man, those eyes", he thought to himself, "how can they still have this affect on him?'' He quickly woke up from his thoughts and asked: "And how are you? I see you got reed of your teal highlights".

She laughed. ''Yeah, that happened a few months ago. I think I'm doing fine, too. I got this job working at the art museum. As a guide, but still. Actually I was going to do a little tour around town today''. She looked into his beautiful deep green eyes. He ran his hand through his messy black hair and smiled. "Well, I'm not doing anything today. You wanna come with me?" She didn't know what to answer. He is her ex and it is unwise to be with him, but it was so good to see someone familiar in a new place. "Sure, why not?", she said.

She took her purse, locked the door behind her and they were off. "You mind going to some coffee shop first? I haven't eaten breakfast yet and I'm kind of hungry. "Not at all", she said as she got on his motorcycle and put on the helmet.

Little bit they know that this is just the beginning of their time together. Neither of them probably figured that an innocent coincidence could lead to their marriage or their twin children, Nicole and Mark. I am still certain that this was no coincidence. It was always their fate.
