All was dark and quiet throughout the ship. No sound from outside could get through the vacuum of space, leaving a deathly silence hanging in the air. The flashing of miscellaneous lights and even the low hum of the engine weren't present.

Before long, a faint hissing sound emitted from below the ship and single light began to emit its color. Slowly, other lights began to flicker and stabilize, illuminating the inside of the space craft. From above, the hood clicked and metal plates separated, carrying a bronze suit of armor to the floorboard. The figure removed the helmet, emitting more of the hissing air and placed it in a metallic closet.

Beneath the helmet resided a beautiful woman's face. Her sharp features took in the vicinity of her vehicle, then satisfied, proceeded to remove the remaining parts of her suit. Having placed every piece of equipment in its proper storage, she strode over to the pilot's chair, her blonde ponytail swaying with each step. She took her seat and flicked several switches, inducing the familiar hum of the engine.

Normally, she wouldn't have left the ship in such a vulnerable state during her absence, but she knew she could trust the Galactic Federation. After all, they were the ones paying her for the mission she had just completed. She looked down at the small envelope, addressed to "Samus Aran." In an age where nearly everything had gone digital, it confounded her that a military as prestigious as the federation would insist on using paper. She placed it in a nearby container with mild annoyance, converting it to a currency she could use would only prove to be a hassle. Once she did however, there wouldn't be any immediate need for another mission.

The bounty on the space pirates she had recently defeated was quite hefty, and as such, Samus thought to herself that she could afford a few minor luxuries or even a minor vacation as well as meeting all of her basic needs. The concept of relaxation seemed almost foreign to her, as most of her life was plagued with tragedy or work. She knew full well she could handle either, but the idea of getting away from it all and properly rewarding herself for saving the galaxy seemed strangely enticing.

Activating the main console and doing a bit of research, she found a highly rated resort just a few solar systems away and locked onto it with her Galactic Positioning System. She activated the thrusters of the ship and carefully maneuvered out of Galactic Federation space before increasing the power with which her ship was propelled.

Samus knew she shouldn't get used to the idea of moments of relaxation, but it was at least worth experiencing once. With a small smile, she continued her course in excitement for whatever pleasantries lay ahead.
