It is the eight letter of the alphabet and by far the most puzzling. What does the 'G' stand for. Hetty had asked, Kenzi had asked, Dom had asked, Sam had asked, Eric had asked, Nate, Ziva, Tim, and Tony had asked. Everyone but Gibbs. Not when he first met me. Not when we worked together again. Not ever. I sometimes wonder if he knows and he just isn't telling me or he just understands that somethings shouldn't be mentioned.I try to think about a name that would fit me.
Garry Callen.
Gavin Callen.
George Callen.
Gabrial Callen.
Gordon Callen.
G Callen.
Maybe that's all it was ever meant to be. Just a G. Not all first names are that important. Still when I need a new cover, I find myself choosing names that start with 'G'. It is an internal instinict. Something I do without thinking, though I am sure Sam and Nate and Hetty notice. I can't help myself. I look around the bullpen. There aren't many people here today. A Sunday. Even Hetty is home. But this is home for me. A place to be alone and be myself. Whoever that is. I walk over to my desk and notice a thick envelope on it. The parchment is smooth and heavy, expensive. I pull out the paper that is conceled within. I never get mail and it intigues me. The inner paper matches the envelope. I feel myself pale as the paper falls back on the desk. Inscribed on it, in swirling script are only five words.
The 'G' stands for something.
