Carole's back ached as she climbed the stairs, a laundry basket filling her arms. The only thing she missed about living just her and Finn was her one-story house. Laundry becomes 10 times more difficult with three.

The million things she had to do ran across her mind as she crossed the kitchen and headed into the living room. Not only did the laundry need to be finished and folded, but supper needed to be made and -

The sight that greeted her on the couch was nothing short of precious. Blaine had come over earlier to watch 'Singing in the Rain' with Kurt so that they could have some alone time. She had left them laughing and singing along an hour ago when she had headed down to the basement. They had evidently gotten sleepy.

Blaine was tucked in front of Kurt, both of their right hands clasped at his stomach, legs tangled. Kurt's head was nestled into the crook of Blaine's neck, and as she watched, he nuzzled in deeper, a smile appearing on his face. The best part of the whole scene was the look of content on both of their faces. Carole smiled to herself, happy that her stepson finally was.

Kurt had had a rough year with that football player picking on him - no, that wasn't a strong enough word - harassing him and moving into a brand new house with two new people but he had been a trooper, never letting that facade falter, even though she could see through it easily. That's why the decision to give him her and Burt's honeymoon money was a no-brainer; They wanted to see him happy again.

Then in comes Blaine, and for the first time in a long time, Kurt doesn't pretend to be happy. He doesn't have to put on a fake smile when he catches her eye from across the room, putting that face on for her sake even though he was obviously lost in deep worried thought moments before. Blaine brought out a joy in Kurt that Burt claimed he had never seen in his son. There was light back in his eyes, and a spring in his step, simply because of the boy he was laying with right now. Carole was ecstatic that the boy she loved just as much as her Finn, was finally okay. She knew how much they owed Blaine; how much she would always owe him. He had saved Kurt, and for that, she would be eternally grateful.

All of this crossed her mind as she crossed the living room, reaching down to turn off the TV quietly, just watching them sleep for a few moments. She would have to wake them before Burt came home from the garage, but for now, she would just leave them - Kurt and his savior - sharing a few silent moments of contentedness away from the world.
