"You, Mr. Potter, are a prime example of an aberrant individual. Far be it for you to conduct yourself in a straight line like the rest of us good citizens of the law."

"Piss off, Snape." Harry stumbled drunkenly past the shadow that had attached itself to him. Absently, he wondered if all the apparitions of his aberration of a mind spoke like his potions professor.

Snape snapped out his wand and with a few motions devoid of any hint of superfluous-ness, cast a sobering charm. Sourly, he watched glazed green eyes regain their focus.

The sobering charm caused an abeyance in Harry's mind, freezing his actions as handily as a petrificus totalus hex. And then, it dawned on him that Snape, the man who could rip his guts out with barbed words, had caught him drinking. Not only that, he had told, Snape the I-Don't-Care-Shit-You're-the-Boy-Who-Lived, Snape the I-Can-Make-You-Wish-You-Were-Never-Born, Snape the One-Who-Would-Kill-The-Boy-Who-Killed-Voldemort to piss off. Fearfully, he gaped, abashed at his own daring. He waited to see his guts across the floor in fantastic, dramatic bloody swirls.

Strangely, the stones remained as gray, dark, and guts-free as before.

"Mr. Potter, becoming a faculty of Hogwarts means abidance to certain rules," Snape said and paused, flicking his wand at Harry. Smug, he caught the anticipated flinch and blanches. Pale and cringing looked good on the Boy-who-Lived-and-Died, no, that wasn't right, Potter would be less... interesting, dead. "Which means for once, doing what you are told. I have taken the liberty of casting a nifty... charm on you."

A little voice in Harry's mind shrieked in terror. Oh shit, it said.

"Feel free to now live by the book," Snape purred, sweeping past the stunned wizard.

A/N: I did this because I decided to pick four words from the dictionary, starting with the "A's" that I was unfamiliar with and see what would happen. This is a good plot-bunny though... maybe I might continue it later on.
