When Yumi's eyes meet blue ones, she feels warm and indestructible, as if she can do anything as long as those eyes are focused upon her. She feels like a comet freewheeling across the universe, as if her only reason for living is to be the shooting star by which her onee-sama makes a wish. Because anything and everything can happen as long as Sachiko looks at her and only her.
"Yumi-san? "
She starts, the connection broken. Her gaze falls upon the teacup against her hand. It is warm, but she knows what is warmer still. Thank you, Yoshino-san. She knows that a lily-white hand is being raised to cover a smile, knows the owner of the hand is amused but will scold her later or now, but afterwards when the meeting is done, press cookies and a teacup into her hands.
There is soft laughter around her.
"How like Yumi!" Rosa Gigantea of course.
"Did you sleep late?" Only Shimako-san is worried.
"Yumi?"
Her head shoots up to meet eyes she could drown in, and she has, frequently, sinking deeper and deeper. She stopped trying to reach for the surface long ago.
"Pay attention."
And she does, but she burns inside, too warm because she's thinking of blue and more blue, all hers.
