Derek was on his way to La Cross practice when he noticed that new warbler day kid heading into the locker room. Derek had only ever seen him once before, last friday, when he dropped by warbler hall with Julian to collect Logan before the trio headed to Derek's lake house for the weekend. He hated to admit, but he agreed with Hummel that the new kid looked like a meerkat, all lanky with a narrow rodent-like face. Maybe he was being biased, but just the look of this kid was trouble.
Derek recalled the past month and a half of ranting that Logan and the other warblers had been doing. About how this kid was going after Anderson with no hesitation or regard for others. And it really pissed Derek off.
Not that he particularly cared about Blaine or Kurt or their relationship one way or another, but he cared about the peace on campus. Hell Night was over, calmness and security swept the school. Wounds, both physical and emotional were either healed or being dealt with, and Derek did not want his last year at Dalton to be anything less than relaxing and fun. If that meant taking care of problems before they arose, then so be it. Let it go down in history that Derek Seigerson was learning from his mistakes.
After Hell night, and an entire summer spent at the Wright's Lodge in the Adirondaks, relaxing and just being boys, Julian and Logan had worked everything out and were going strong. And the three of them had never been closer. And Derek would be damned if some new punk was going to waltz in and mess with the balance. Which would surely happen if he succeeded. And if you pulled his arm, Derek would admit that he didn't really want Windsor to be in an uproar either, most of those guys- while still extremely irritating and stupid- did help save his two best friend's lives and how could he watch this blow up in everyone's face knowing he could have done something.
And with resolve flowing through him. Derek caught up to the new kid who was just entering the locker room and pinned him forcefully to the wall.
"Listen up new kid, I hear that you are attempting to jump Anderson." Derek only let him nod before pressing him harder to the wall. "Well thats going to stop. You see, you are just a whiney rich day student who gets to play around here during school then leaves, you are not one of us, you never will be and if you ever try to break us, any of us, I promise it will be an unpleasurable experience for you. Do you understand?" Sebastian nodded, eyes wide.
"Good, because despite my house's feud with Windsor, we are all tight. We all have each other's backs and if I find out that you so much as thought of Anderson in a compromising position, I will personally take your cross stick and jam it down your throat. Is that clear?"
"Cr..c...crystal"
"Good. Now get out on the field and start warming up." Derek released his iron clad hold on the boy and watched as he scampered off. He turned to walk the other way when he noticed two figures in the door way. They all smiled and nodded to each other before turning to leave and replying.
"Well done, Red Queen. Well done."
Diclaim: I do not own Glee or Dalton by CP Coulter, I simply play with the characters.
I really can't stand meerkat face. I don't think he has a good enough voice to front the warblers and I thinkg it was a poor choice of the writers to cast someone for the role of Sebastian who is not a fraction as attractive as Kurt in the role of someone who tries to woo Blaine. If that made sense, then I would also like to say that I have been thinking lately about how the Dalton boys would react to such an intruder. Upon reflection, I realized that Derek was the best choice bacuse he is removed from Klaine to be nice and yet close enough to make an impression. And really who doesn't like Derek when he secretly shows how much he cares.
I hope you all liked it! Reviews would be lovely!
