Blood dripped slowly down his stoic face. He kept his chin high to keep the blood from falling on the unconscious hanyou in his arms. Sesshomaru's long silver hair, streaked with blood, lay across Inuyasha's stomach, a few strands gently blowing in the wind. Golden eyes looked down on the delicate features of his younger half-brother.
What have you gotten yourself into, Inuyasha?
Steam wafted up from the nearby hot spring, obscuring the ground slightly and making the air shimmer. Carefully, the yokai laid Inuyasha next to the spring and lightly pulled off his clothes, assessing the hanyou's wounds as he went. They were nothing life-threatening. He removed his own clothes, probing his already half-healed wounds and slipped into the water. Turning around, the demon lord lifted his brother off the ground and set is unconscious body in the steaming water.
You're such an idiot, Inuyasha.
Cupping water in his hand, Sesshomaru poured it over Inuyasha's body, washing off the dirt and blood from the battle. The hanyou had attacked a yokai and gotten in over his head, ending up passing out and at the mercy of the yokai. He had stepped in because, well, the hanyou's stupidity doesn't mean he should be killed by a lesser demon.
I shouldn't have to protect you, Inuyasha.
The demon lord studied the sleeping features of his brother's, running his fingers across his cheek. The hanyou's eyelids fluttered, his ears twitching. Slowly, golden eyes looked up into his older brother's. Shock and fear flashed through them as the realization that his dangerous brother had his claws against his bare throat.
But you don't have to worry, Inuyasha.
Sesshomaru's eyes softened as poisonous claws slid lightly to the back of his neck, finger's weaving in to silver hair. Inuyasha couldn't stop his heart from pounding, the blood rushing to his face, beating in his ears. His eyes grew wide as the older yokai lowered his head and pressed his lips to the hanyou's. Both let their eyes slip closed as the kiss deepened.
I'll always be there, Inuyasha.
