He stayed with her, and they traveled everywhere imaginable, and it was wonderful. And he knew that he could never tell her how much she meant to him, because everything was so perfectly arranged between them. But then Rory came, and mad, impossible Amelia was just absolutely in love. Of course, the Doctor had already known that they were in love, but if pained him for some reason to see them. So he watched from the sidelines, knowing that he could do it all for her in time.

Rory was gone, again. She didn't remember him, but he could see that she tried. She would say something, then stop, frowning, as if she couldn't seem to remember what she was about to say. It made him sad to see her like that, so lost. But then Rory was back, and she was happy.

Rory and Amelia were parents. Their daughter was beautiful, wonderful River, and the Doctor couldn't have been happier for them. Or at least, that's what he told himself. Secretly, it broke his hearts to see her. He knew that it wasn't his right, but he… he loved her. Yes, that was true. But she loved Rory. He knew that. She would always love Rory, and he made her so wonderfully happy. He could stand it to stay detached if it meant she would be happy. It didn't matter for him so much.

Just like that, his Amelia was gone. She had left to be with Rory, and he wholeheartedly hoped that they were happy. But he was so empty inside. Even when he got the letter she sent to him, he still missed her. He was so alone without her. He knew she was content with her new life, but her disappearance left a hole in his hearts. She had never loved him, but he would love her twice as much to make up for it. And even though she never fell for him, he would always catch her when she fell.

I'm out of touch, I'm out of love,

I'll pick you up when you're getting down

And out of all these things I've done, I will love you better now

A/N: By the way, I don't really ship Amy/11. Sorry if this was terrible, I've been having bad writers block and this just came to me and I felt I needed to write it… Anyways, please review! Thanks to all of y'all who took the time to read this! :)
