Rabi/Kanda (D.Gray-Man) for BadassUke (535 words)
Prompt: Rabi/Yuu

Rabi is of the opinion that Kanda Yuu doesn't bear his heart to the world because he's afraid that someone might break it.

The red-head thinks that his sword-wielding friend scorns Allen for his open-heartedness because he wishes he could do the same. Rabi also thinks that Kanda has gone too long without seeing the strength sharing your heart can bring you and now keeps his emotions locked up tight in a box with no key. Rabi knows that being subtle won't open it. He's been trying to pick the lock for five years, to no effect.

Sometimes you just need to forget about subtlety and smash things open with a hammer.

Rabi thinks he's lucky that he has one.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

Kanda bristles at him angrily and the red-head is reminded all at once of a startled cat. He finds this cute and so hugs Kanda again, but tighter. He's expecting his friend to pull away and threaten him with Mugen but the other exorcist is unmoving in his arms.

Rabi thinks that Kanda's brain may have overheated because the shorter boy is so warm, even through the layers of clothing he covers himself in.

"I'm seducing you," he replies. Kanda snorts, but still doesn't pull away and the red-head is hopeful because he knows his friend could pull away if he really wanted to. Rabi kisses the nape of Kanda's neck and smiles at the shivers this causes.

"Well you suck at it."

Kanda's reply is quick and sharp. Rabi chuckles because he figures that only Kanda would treat this as a battle. "What makes you say that?"

The swordsman still doesn't pull away, but Rabi feels the muscles tighten in the body he's wrapped around. "You're not supposed to give a person time to think."

Rabi thinks that this makes sense and says so. Kanda snorts.

"Now go away and leave me alone."

He pretends to consider this.

"No."

This time Kanda turns around to glare at him. "What did you say?"

Rabi replies by pushing him up against a wall and seducing him so quickly and roughly that when Kanda wakes up the next morning to find himself half-clothed and aching in places that shouldn't be aching he can respond to his friend's hissed inquiry of 'What the fuck did you do that for?' easily.

"Well, you pretty much begged me for it," he answers, and then adds: "Especially near the end."

Rabi says this without fear because he knows he can outrun Kanda on the best of days, let alone when the swordsman has a limp.

He decides that subtlety isn't the way to go with one Kanda Yuu. Smashing things open works much better in his opinion. And he finds it a lot more enjoyable, too.

Rabi still hasn't managed to open up Kanda's key-less box like he wants to, but he's always been surprisingly patient and can wait for his friend to open it up for him.

Perhaps Kanda might one day even give him the key.
