This is something I thought about. You know how Uchihas get blind because of using too mcuh sharingan, right? And how they steal their siblings eyes and make it the Ultimate Sharingan? Why couldn't they have used a less brutal way? This is how it all started ...
(A long time ago in Konoha)
With Madara and Izuna
Madara was lying on his futon bed. He was really sick and his vision was a little blurry. Right now, his little brother, Izuna, was sitting right next to him.
" Brother, give me your eyes but at the cost of your life. It is the only way I will ever see" Madara pleaded.
" I am very sorry, aniki, but I can not give you my eyes. I feel as though I have a purpose for living. But, i have found another way to help you see" replied Izuna.
Just as Izuna finished his sentence, he took out a pair of ... YOU GUESSED IT! GLASSES! He was in the pose the train engineer guy in the Zelda games does when he finds something.
" You put them on when your not using your sharingan, and take them off when you want to activate your sharingan." informed the youngest of the brothers.

( Time skip: Later on the Next Day)
If you were in the Konoha market, you would a bunch of Uchihas crowding up a store. More specificlly, the eyesight and glasses store. Apparently, the Uchihas heard of the discovery Izuna made and those that felt like they were losing perfect vision went to get glasses.
( Time Skip: When Sasukes 16 and needs his eyes fixed)
" I'm ready for my eyes." stated the emo Uchiha in a very boring tone.
" Alright. Lay down and deactivate you Sharingan." demanded the orange lollipop figure.
Sasuke did as so and felt cold metal against his ears.
" Now open your eyes, but remember this. You are NOT to use your sharingan with these on unless you like irreversible damages to yourself. You are to take it off when wanting to activate you sharingan." the same man says.
When opening his eyes, Sasuke sees the world in a whole new light.
" Everything is so clear!" Sasuke exclaimed, adding a little bit of emotion in his voice. " I don't know why i every listened to Orochimaru. I'm going back to Konoha and starting a new life, fighting alongside Naruto. You should come too since you are also an Uchiha and with me gone, you wont find another Uchiha"
And Sasuke turned good with Tobi alongside him. They were welcomed in Konoha by the Konoha gang.
And everything happened with glasses. We should name them ... The Glasses of Lightness!
