"No photographs!" That's what he'd said. "You get caught with that, kid, and you'll have no end of questions from the military." But she'd managed to get one of the four of them eventually.

Now she stood there, studying the photograph.

Hannibal was pulling a stern disapproving face like he would give to Murdock and BA when they squabbled or if Face was trying to wangle his way out of something. Even though she'd convinced them to pose for the photograph, he still hadn't been happy about it and boy, did his expression show it in the photograph.

Face was his usual well-dressed handsome self, giving his smile, almost trying to charm the lens from the camera. Murdock had his arm around Face's shoulder and was grinning. She smiled. It was his grin that you couldn't help but smile back at.

And finally there was BA. The photograph had captured the rare little smile of BA's that not everyone got the privilege of seeing. She smiled again as she remembered that Murdock had then said something to turn BA's smile to a scowl. So she was lucky she'd caught that smile. She chuckled to herself and shook her head. What was it Murdock had said?

Once she'd finished studying the photograph, she placed it safely in her luggage so that it wouldn't bend. Then she closed the drawer in which the photograph had once been hidden and grabbed her bags.

Opening the front door, she took a quick glance behind her to check that she had everything. Her apartment was boxed and ready for the movers to come in and put her furniture into storage. She closed the front door behind her as she left. Sadness filled her heart.

As she walked, she decided that when she got to Jakarta, she'd frame that photograph and put it pride of place on her mantelpiece. She was going to miss the guys, and the jazz, but she knew for one reason or another, it was time to move on.
