The day they would always remember

NOTE: SET 10 YEARS AFTER "WIND WAKER"

Aryll looked out over the wide ocean. She loved to do this even as a child. The wide ocean fascinated her greatly, and she always wondered what lay beyond the horizon. "Someday…someday, I'll go out there and explore. Someday…" Aryll thought this to herself constantly, and she never gave up on her dream. She worked at a bar on Windfall Island as a waitress, something she also liked to do. She loved to see the smiling faces of people who just got back from their sea journeys, and she loved to hear their tales of wonder and adventure. But mostly, she loved to just look out the windows and view the vast sea in all its glory.

Finally, she was able to afford her own vessel. Nothing much, just a small boat with a mast and sail, like her brother used when he set sail. Oh, her brother Link. It had been ages since they last met. She wondered what he was up to, where he was sailing. This was another reason she wanted to explore the wide sea. She wanted to meet up with her older brother and sail together. She wanted to spend the days with him out on the great big blue, seeing the nautical sights all those sailors talked about back in the bar. But first, she would need to raise even more money for herself to get supplies. It didn't matter how long it would take to her. The day that she sets sail is the day she'll remember forever.

"Hello..? Aryll, is that..?" Aryll turned around quickly from the window at the bar, snapping out of her daydream. The person standing before her was very well built, but she could tell he wouldn't hurt a fly without reason, very good reason. He wore a cap and tunic. Not many people at the place knew him, but Aryll recognized him in a heartbeat.

"Link…" Aryll was getting teary eyed. The person she wanted to see for so long was finally in her presense. She leapt into his arms, and he gave her the biggest bear hug he could. "Link…I'm so glad to see you again…All these years and…" She was cut off when Link gave her a small kiss on the cheek.

"Aryll, I'm home. Please don't worry for me. All I wanted to do since I came home was to see your smiling face again. To hold you in my arms. Aryll…" Link was then cut off when Aryll returned his kiss.

Her shift was done sometime later, and the two made their way home. For them, it didn't matter how long the trip home was or how long they had to wait for Aryll's shift to end. All that didn't matter. All that mattered was being able to be together once more. When they got back home, they stayed together, watching the sun set from the lookout post. This was the day they would always remember.
