Tony Stark had called a meeting to order at the Avengers compound where some of the Earth's mightiest heroes were gathered, to discuss the next course of action against a new danger threatening their world.
In attendance were two very bored guardians of the galaxy, who passed the time waiting for Tony Stark's arrival by making rude remarks about the other heroes in the room.
"Who's the clown in the cape? Where does Stark find these people?" Rocket quipped about a figure dressed in blue, adorned with a long red cape.
"Sorcerer, actually and who might you be?" Doctor Strange, who blessed with good hearing suddenly appeared in front of them and inquired.
"I am Groot." Groot answered
"Hey! How d'you get here so fast?" Rocket exclaimed, surprised by the doctor's sudden appearance.
"Teleportation and you haven't answered my question." Doctor Strange succinctly answered and returned to the topic at hand.
"I am Groot." Groot repeated himself.
"He already knows who you are and what's it to yo—" Rocket asked, but was interrupted by Strange's cape smacking him on the tail.
"Hey!"
Head bending down to address the collar of his cape, Doctor Strange reminded the cape of their agreement, "We talked about this. I thought you were going to be on your best behaviour."
Collar drooping from Strange's scolding, the doctor offered Rocket his apology, "I apologize for my cape's behaviour. It meant no harm."
"He's weird for a human. Weirder than Quill." Rocket grimaced and told Groot.
"Coming from a talking mammal that feeds from trash cans, I take no offence from that statement." Doctor Strange retorted and left.
I know it's a very short ficlet, but I wanted to have a go at writing Doctor Strange/Guardians interactions after Scott Derrickson expressed an interest on Reddit about seeing Stephen interacting with Groot and Rocket.
