AN: This is Part II of Watching You. This is from Brennan's POV. The first one is on my page titled "Watching You Part I" and is from Booth's POV. I suggest you read that one first and then this one, although they can be read separately. This is written for my lovely Steph. Thank you so much for being my muse on these two little fics.

She watched him from the doorway. He was sitting on the couch in the living room. The TV was blearing a hockey game and he was watching intently. He was tense, she could read it in the way he scrunched his shoulders. She wasn't sure if his team was winning but she loved watching him. The way his muscles tensed and relaxed, the way he did his hair, the stubble that grew on his chin. He was her hero, as much as she hated to admit she needed someone, she needed him. She always did and she always would. He had saved her, physically, emotionally and mentally. He was her rock. She always had his shoulder to cry on. His soft lips would always brush hers with care and attention. He shifted on the couch and carefully put his legs up on the coffee table. His strong back led into strong arms and she loved those arms. The arms that wrapped around her. The way those arms protected her and his kids. The possessive nature and alpha male displays he showed often made her smile. She was always safe by his side. He had so much heart, so much. He had shown her what it was like to trust another person. He had shown her that it was okay to feel things. He had broken her shell. She heard his team score and he didn't celebrate like he normally would. This puzzled her but she thought no more of it. He rubbed the back of his neck and she saw his strong hands. The hands that had pulled her from the dirt after she was buried alive, the hands that held her hips so softly when they danced and the hands that caressed her hair and back when they kissed or made love.
The love she had for this man was astonishing to her and the way he loved her back was just as amazing. She had never loved a man as much as she loved him. She knew it was irrational to think that she might die if she ever lost him, but truth was, she would. She would never want to love anyone else. The hockey game ended and he lifted the remote to turn the TV off. He just sat there and looked into his lap. His muscled relaxed and so did she. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He was the heart. She was the brain. She always was, but his heart and love had softened her and she was becoming warmer. Having him in her life was a blessing she would always cherish. She loved watching him. She loved seeing him be himself. What he did when he thought no one was watching, warmed her. The way he played ball with Parker or the way he read to Christine at bedtime. He was a fantastic father. She was glad that he was the father of her daughter. Seeing that he hadn't moved, she slowly walked over to the back of the couch and noticed that he had a sleeping Christine in his lap. She smiled. The way he was holding her while she slept, was one of the most beautiful sights she had ever seen. He looked up at her and smiled, craning his heck up for a gentle kiss. Their lips brushed and then she rested her chin on his shoulder, smiling into his neck. They had a new person in their lives that had to love and protect. She knew that as long as their love was strong, the centre would hold.
