Chapter One

Not even Carter Flynn herself knew how many cycles she had been here. The time was all blurring together, one thing was certain though. She was getting older, and the other programs around her weren't. Carter didn't let that get to her though.

It all started when she snuck out of her room to follow her dad to work, not knowing why she did it, curiosity she assumed. They arrived at the arcade, Carter didn't expect him to come here. She followed her father inside. Being as small as she was, it was easy for her to sneak around her father. She followed him to an office in the back corner of the place. He walked over and sat down at the computer. He typed something and the entire room went white. The next thing she knew, she was in a different world it looked like. Her father got up and turned around. Carter didn't have enough time to hide before her father noticed her. "Carter, what are you doing here?" He asked her in a stern voice. She didn't speak, she was too afraid too. He sighed. "Well I guess one night in the grid won't hurt you." he spoke. "But you can't tell your brother about what you see here. I'll take him here someday." He then began to explain to Carter everything. About the programs, Clu and Tron and everything that she needed to know about being on the grid. He gave her an identity disk to make sure she blended in with the other programs.

Kevin began showing Carter around the grid. They were walking in a hallway when she heard a voice that sounded like her fathers. Only it wasn't it was Clu. Carter wasn't paying attention to what he was saying, but a fight broke out. The next thing she knew, her father grabbed her hand and led her to a safer place. "Carter, I need you to ask around. Look for a male name Zuse, he will help protect you. Stay there until I come get you alright?" He asked and Carter nodded my head. With that, he took off running. She was nervous, she always hated asking around for people. It made her feel awkward. She sucked it up and began to ask people about Zuse's location. Carter asked some people, but they shook their heads, not knowing where he was. She asked a blonde woman who nodded her head at Carter's question.

"Follow me." She spoke in a strange voice, Carter wasn't sure what to call it. Carter did as she was told and the woman led her to a tall building, the two then got into the elevator and took it to the top. She couldn't help but feel worried for her father. She just hoped that he was safe, Carter wished she knew for sure. Once they got to the top, the female led her over to a male with white hair.

"My father told me to come find Zuse and that he would keep me safe from whatever is going on right now." The male looked at her, then to the other female.

"Who is your father?" The male asked.

"Kevin Flynn."

"Creator." he whispered. Then he spoke louder. "Alright. I will help you by letting you stay here until your father comes."

Years had probably passed. Carter knew that for sure, she got older while Zuse stayed the same age. He did a good job of doing the best he could to bring her up, him being a program. Carter now worked along side him, as a waitress at End Of Line club. She did her best to keep to herself, not letting anyone know that she was a user, let alone the daughter of the creator. Things had gone downhill on the grid, they were killing programs left and right, Carter wanted to stay out of it all. Thankfully, she was doing a good job. There were only a few times where she had to hide in order to not be taken by Clu. She had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to her. She pushed her feeling aside and focused on her task for the night. It was around halfway through the night before the feeling came back, only stronger this time. She put aside what she was doing and she went to find Zuse.

But Carter saw something that she didn't want to see. She saw him talking to four other males, one with yellow circuits, and the other three with orange. She froze not wanting intrude, or to know that she was there. However, it was too late. They had seen her, Someone grabbed her by the arms and brought her to where the others were. The one with the yellow circuits turned around, Carter was shocked to see her father standing in front of her. However, Carter knew that it wasn't him. It couldn't be him, he would have gotten older like she did. It had to be Clu. She took a deep breath. "Daughter of Flynn, we have been searching for you for many cycles, and you were here the entire time." He glanced at Zuse. "If we didn't need you, you would already be derezzed. "Rinzler, take her with us." With that, he turned around and walked the other way. Carter could hear the purr coming from the program behind her. The grip on her arm grew tighter and he began to lead her away. It wasn't long before she was on a recognizer with them. Carter knew that this day was coming, she always hoped it didn't, but she knew it sooner or later, now all she could do was wait and see what would happen to her.
