Authors Note: This plot will follow the idea a friend of mine and I came up with. This is POST-game and in this Cocoon will become uncrystallized, (along with Fang and Vanille of course! 3) The fal'cie Barthandelus has been revived and now wishes only to destroy Gran Pulse out of anger for failing. He will revive Cid Raines to do his bidding, and the 13 girls (Light, Fang, Vanille) are going to have to put a stop to this, though eventually we will see some LightXCid! 33 I love this pairing! :3 I hope you enjoy, I shall be updating when I have the time, adding new chapters etc. Here's the first chapter (Sorry for crappyness this is my FIRST fanfic ever to write and the first time I've ever attempted at RPing Light.) She will lighten up a bit eventually! but for now look forward to Snow getting punched down a few times! x) I love reviews! (oh and btw Snow usually talks first when both he and Serah say something. Also, Italicized words is when Light is thinking.) Characters are not mine but go to Square Enix of course!

"...Now we live on to see the New Dawn..."

Those words echoed through the young woman's mind. Memories flooded through her brain, all those times while they had been saving Cocoon. Somehow it didn't seem right. Everything was finished, Fang and Vanille had saved the world, Cocoon was crystallized, Gran Pulse was now inhabited, Oerba was being rebuilt, Sazh, Snow and Serah, Hope...they were all together with who they cared about. Sazh had Dajh, Snow and Serah were married and Hope had reconnected with his father. Something wasn't right though. Something...

She was officially paranoid. When had she started becoming paranoid? It was over, done, nothing else remained for them to do. Nothing remained but to enjoy life. In the months that had passed since that last battle...though the others were happy and content, Light couldn't shake that feeling. For a few months things had been good, she had even started smiling more. Everyone was so happy, it had been contagious. That's when the feelings had hit. Like something was wrong, something was going to happen. No matter how hard she tried Light couldn't shake it.

And heaven knew she tried to shake it. Serah had noticed and had talked to her about why she had slipped back into her reserved nature. Light didn't explain for two reasons. First off, she didn't know just why she was slipping back, and second, even if she did know Light would take care of the problem without worrying her sister. Serah should concentrate on her own life. Even though Snow wasn't her favorite person in the world, Serah loved him and Light wouldn't interfere with them any more. They deserved some happiness.

It really was amazing how little she saw of the rest of the gang. Sazh had started breeding chocobos as well as having an airship business. Probably brought on by Dajh's love of the fluffy yellow birds. Snow was doing what he liked doing best. Being an idiot. No, in reality he was playing the hero again and helping with the rebuilding of the ruins of cities as well as keeping the beasts that roamed the surrounding area away from the civilians. Crossing her arms over her chest, Light's face didn't change as she looked at the crystallized shell of the world she had once called her home.

If she could live there again...would she want to? Scanning the surrounding area, Light saw the beasts roaming, the colorful vegetation, the blue sky and the bright clean area. In contrast with Cocoon, Gran Pulse was wild and untamed. And yet, the place had grown on her to the point where if she had the choice, Light would stay right where she was now. The beauty really was something. Having grown up being taught that Pule was 'hell' Light had been weary of the land down below. Remembering Fang getting so mad at them calling it that, a small smile worked its way up to her lips. The first smile in a long time.

Quickly it was replaced with a slight scowl. Fang and Vanille weren't here, but she wished they were. The two women had become like her family, and she had promised herself that she would find a way to free them from their crystal prison. And yet here it was, months later and she hadn't come up with any way to free them. It annoyed her. Light should have been able to come up with something by now, and yet, she had not. Suddenly Light remembered that tonight Serah and Snow had invited her over for supper. 'Great...I have enough to think about without him talking nonstop about being the hero.' Light would rather stay and reminisce about the old times, but if she didn't show up Serah would have her head. With a sigh she turned around and headed back to Oerba from her position on the outskirts.

While she walked Light thought about why she was feeling so weird. Something wasn't right, and it was eating away at her. A little at a time, Light needed to figure out just what was wrong. Though something didn't feel right, Light had no idea what it might even be. That's the part that killed her...the not knowing.

Sitting in the chair by the table with her arms crossed over her chest, Light stared at the set table in front of her and tried not to let her irritation show. She should have stayed away. Light was in no mood for Snow's long winded speeches about how great life was. It was at the point where Light wasn't paying attention anymore, just looking down at her food.

"...when they saw that monster come running at them they were all screaming. Good thing the Hero -yours truly- was there to save the day! PSICOM came a minute to late, I already had that monster dead and gone!"

A scowl appeared at Snow's story. Didn't he ever shut up? Serah seemed to be drinking up the story though, looking at the over-sized oaf with adoring eyes. It made her sick, but they were married, they could be lovey dovey if they wanted to.

"Oh Snow I bet they were all impressed. Your so good at keeping everyone safe."

Serah really was sold with the guy. Which was good considering they were married. At least Snow was keeping his word and keeping her safe and happy. Light hadn't seen her cry once, so she had no reason to complain about Snow. Turning her eyes away from the happy couple, Light uncrossed her arms and picked up her fork to take a bite of the food Serah had prepared. Such a good cook, while Light had been training to get into the military Serah had been at home keeping things running smoothly.

"Hellooo Light! Are you listening?"

That snapped her back out of her thinking and Light lifted her face to see Serah watching her with expecting eyes. Mind scrambled to try and think of what Serah had said to her. She came up with nothing though, and so she laid her fork down and swallowed.

"I was just thinking. What did you say?"

The look she was given was the typical look Serah gave her when she was worried. Light hated that look.

"Wow Sis, you've been doing way to much of that lately! You've gotta loosen up a bit! Live more!"

"Oh Snow leave Light alone."

Yes, leave her the hell alone. She didn't need anyone -especially Snow- telling her to lighten up. If he'd stop and take life seriously for a second he would realize that as well. The thing was, Light didn't even know herself what was wrong with her. Though Snow irritated her, it hadn't been so bad since they had saved the world...until recently. Once again everything he did irritated her greatly.

"It doesn't matter, it wasn't important. But Light...are you alright? Snow's right, you've been thinking way to much lately. Is there anything the matter that we can help with?"

Light was just fine, but she wasn't about to snap at Serah, her only sister. Still, her words got her thinking. Was she really alright?

"I'm fine."

Neither one of them really seemed to buy that. Thankfully Serah wasn't going to push the issue. Snow on the other hand...

"Awww comon Sis! You've gotta tell us whats the matter, we can both tell somethings eatin' at ya! Why not just tell us?"

Nosy oaf, why didn't he just back down and leave her alone? Apparently he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Rising to her feet, Light pushed back her chair and rested her hands on the table. The look she sent Snow might send chills down the normal person's spine.

"I'm fine."

She repeated that, emphasizing each word, stressing the 'fine.' Snow raised his hands to chest level.

"Woah woah! Alright then, I guess you're fine! Excuse me for asking."

"Obviously your alright Light, I'm sorry, I've just been worri-"

"Don't be. Nothings the matter."

Light interrupted Serah to tell her that, and she returned to sitting down in the chair and watching her plate. The look that passed between Snow and Serah went unnoticed. Why was she being like this? Something had been eating at her lately, but even she didn't know what it was, and she didn't want to talk about it. The silence was thick for the next few minutes as nobody had really anything to say. Finally Light pushed back her chair and stood up again.

"I'm going to go. Serah, Snow, thank you for having me over."

Gritting her teeth, Light turned, grabbed her gunblade from where it rested by the door and sheathed it. She needed to get away. She needed to get away from their knowing glances and their questions. Everything.

"Lightning! hey, come back!"

"Light...I'm sorry I-"

She turned to see Serah get up from her seat and come after her. Light interrupted her once more by giving her an attempt at a smile and hugging her.

"Nothing to be sorry about. The meal was wonderful, I just need some time to think."

With that Light turned, opened the door and walked through, closing it softly behind her. Somewhere to think. With long strides Light headed once more to the place where she went to when she wanted to think...what remained of Cocoon in crystal form. Ignoring the people around her, Light walked with a determination out of town toward the outskirts of Oerba once again. Something remained unfinished. It was up to her to figure out what that was however. No one else should be dragged into this, they all had lives, people they lived for, Light was by herself. She would figure this out...only a matter of time...
