Half an hour after Tsunade presented the idea of recruiting Naruto into Anbu to the Council, she found a notice on her desk from Sakura requesting she be recruited in his place. Two hours later, she received another from Kakashi. Twenty minutes after that, the Uchiha stormed into her office demanding she drop the idea of putting Naruto into Anbu, and if she really needed someone, he was just as qualified.
The Godaime gave up with a sigh.
"Before I consider the three separate 'requests'-" here she shot the teen an exasperated look that displayed plainly what she thought of his tactics "-to keep Naruto out of Anbu – I'm not even going to ask how you knew – I want to know why you're all insisting on it."
"He wants to be Hokage." As if that explained everything. Which it didn't.
Except that, well, it sort of did.
"Damn." Uchiha smirked at her. "What are you laughing at?" Tsunade demanded. "You just put Nara Shikamaru up for promotion."
She felt somewhat vindicated when his smirk fell.
