Just a little thing I thought up while watching TV this afternoon... The end of this episode just begged for it to be added...
Spoilers (sort of...) for 7X19 Big Shots, just the very end.
Disclaimer: Of course, I don't own anything. If I did, Grissom would not have left, Warrick wouldn't have died, and the series pairings would be a bit different...
"If the kid's brother hadn't died... Would you have done the same?"
Greg turned around and leaned against his locker, looking at Grissom. He opened his mouth to respond, then closed it again, pausing to consider. He looked down, cocking his head slightly to one side as he thought.
"I don't know. I just, uh..." Greg stopped talking again, looking up at Grissom, a thought occurring to him. "Do you think it's wrong?"
From his position leaning against the door frame, Grissom looked Greg evenly. "Doesn't matter what I think." He inclined his head slightly, giving Greg a look that said exactly what he thought, then he turned and walked away, going back to work.
Greg stood silently, simply staring at the spot that his supervisor, the man he loved, had just vacated. He had felt the disappointment in Grissom's entire demeanor at what Greg had done to help Aaron James, and it stung. Blinking back the tears he could feel gathering in his eyes, Greg turned back to his locker, whispering softly, "It matters to me, Gil."
