One Year On
So here they were, one year later. Things had changed so much since they had got together nearly eighteen months ago. And now they were celebrating their first anniversary together as Mr. & Mrs. Hotchner.
Unfortunately, the higher powers didn't approve, namely a certain Erin Strauss, and had informed them both, when they announced their engagement, that one of them would have to be reassigned. Emily had immediately told Aaron she would be the one to leave, she explained to him how she understood him enough to know he wouldn't be the man she loved so much if he left the BAU.
So Emily had left and moved to counter terrorism, thanks to Jordan Todd, she was actually liking it there! It was easier hours, only real downside was there was a lot more paper work. But she learned to deal.
And here they were, her and Aaron, her team mates, new and old, celebrating and now Aaron had asked her to join her for a dance. It was a slow number, it was one he had requested for them to dance to.
"I know it's a bit fluffy, but I thought it suited the occasion" he smiled at her as he pulled her close to him. She leaned in to his body and seemed to fit perfectly in his arms.
"That it does" she laughed "But yeah, it is a bit fluffy"

They both held each intently and listened to the words of the song, he was right, they did fit amazingly well to their situation to date.
After the song had finished they sat with the group, talking and reminiscing of the past and discussing the future.
Aaron turned to his wife and leaned his face to her ear "Any regrets?" he whispered, placing a kiss upon her shoulder.
"About us?" she gave him a reassuring smile "Not one thing...and I never will regret anything about being with you"
"Good" he placed his lips to hers and gained a 'save it for behind close doors' from the rest of the group.
"Here's to another thirty years like this one" Aaron stated raising his glass to the people around him, but never letting his eye's leave Emilys'.
A/N : yeah I know it was short, but I found this prompt a little difficult lol, I think I may have done something to upset my muse, she's not playing nice lately. But alas she'll be back soon =P
