Little Rose Weasley sat on the floor of the sitting room, happily playing with one of her teddies. It was early afternoon and the sun was shinning in through the large window. The family cat was lying next to Rose, obviously enjoying the warmth of the sun. Rose reached her chuddy little hand out to stroke the cat. She loved Crookshanks. She heard a door open and noticed her Mother walk in from the kitchen. Hermione sat down on the sofa and began to sip at a glass of water. She looked down at Rose and smiled.

"Does Rosie want to come and sit on the sofa with Mommy?"

Rose giggled in delight and stumbled across to the sofa. Hermione then lifted her daughter up. Rose's eyes became fixated on Hermione's expanded tummy.

"Mommy fat!" Rose declared

Hermione giggled at her daughter. She and Ron knew they would have to explain this to Rose eventually. She was a very clever two years old and was bound to notice the changes that were going on eventually.

"Yes Rosie, Mommy is a bit fat now. But there's a reason why. Do you want Mommy to tell you why?"

Rose nodded and Hermione sat her lemonade down and lifted Rose onto her lap.

"The reason is that you're going to be a big sister soon sweetie" Hermione explained

"Big sista?"

"Yes sweetie. Inside Mommy's tummy there's a baby and soon the baby will be born. That means that you will have a little brother or sister. Do you understand?"

"Baby in Mommy's tummy?"

"Yes sweetie that's right. The baby will be born soon though"

Rose put her little hand on Hermione's tummy and smiled. She then reached for a small toy which was lying on the sofa and placed it on top of Hermione's tummy.

"Babies" said Rose

"Awww sweetie is that for the baby?"

Rose nodded, looking pleased with her self. Another noise distracted her though. Ron had returned home from work. He walked into the room and Rose began to squirm with excitement. Hermione let her down and she stumbled over to Ron who picked her up.

"Hello cutie" he said giving her a kiss

"Daddy, baby in Mommy's tummy"

"Is there really? Isn't the exciting?" Ron said acting surprised

Hermione smiled up at them and patted her own tummy. She was sure when the new baby arrived that everything would be just perfect.
