There was a humming in her ears. Blood being pumped in and out of her heart at an accelerated pace. Every sense in her body was

heightened. Her eyes took in the shadows around her, the ripple and fall of bodies as they clamoured to claim her. She felt their blood

on her hands, her arms, her face. The blades in her hands felt hot and sticky, each of them moving swiftly and with deadly accuracy as

she sliced through skin and bone. Her mind however was void of all thought. An emptiness had claimed it, her body on autopilot, it's

path set for destruction. There was no fear. Her movements did not require thinking on her path. She merely reacted. Instinct taking

over. It was like a dance. She moved fluidly, a step here a turn there. The humming in her ears drowning out the screams of the reavers

as she cut them down. They were relentless in their quest to take her, she was relentless in her quest to destroy them. She smelt their

fear, their confusion at her strength and skill. They did not understand why she was not afraid. They did not know that she was already

dead inside. And so she fought, and she killed until the last creature fell lifeless to the floor at her feet. Head down, the pounding in her

ears slowly subsided though the adrenaline that raced through her veins continued to speed it's way around her body. The sound of the

steel doors opening was not lost on her. She felt their eyes on her. Her concentration however was on the people behind her, the ones

who were yet to enter. She waited for them, knowing that they had come for her. The pounding began again and her grip on the

weapons in her hands tightened. She was ready for them now. There would be no more running. Closing her eyes, she prayed for war.
