"You like fruitcake?" Tom said, sounding skeptical.

"Sure do." Peyton says, then takes another bite of a fruitcake. Tom and Peyton are at the Port Court watching some matches. Peyton had gotten hungry and instead of asking one of the Port Court robots for food, Peyton took out a whole fruitcake from his backpack.

"Want to try some?" Peyton asks, "It's a family recipe my great grandmother made."

"No thanks." Tom politely declined, trying not to sound disgusted by the thought of eating the cake.

"Come on Tom. It's really good. I didn't put any of my Peyton germs on it." Peyton laughs.

"I don't like fruitcake Peyton." Tom says, trying to get Peyton to stop offering the cake.

Peyton rolls his eyes like he has heard this answer before. "Have you ever tried it before?" Peyton asks.

"No." Tom answers.

"Then how do you know if you like it or not?" Peyton asks.

"It just doesn't look good."

"I think you've just heard how bad fruitcake is by everyone else, so you think you won't like it either." Peyton said, "I never took you to be food prejudice, Tom. For shame." Peyton shakes his head, then eats another piece of his fruitcake.

Tom choose not to say anything to that and went back to watching the Chaotic match.

"Of course Peyton would like fruitcake. He'll eat anything." Tom thought.

Notes: Thought of this while eating fruitcake I got for Christmas. I use to think fruitcake was horrible because that's what everyone says and my Mom told me I wouldn't like it. So I never ate one piece of fruitcake and yet still thought it was horrible. Then one day I decided to try some and actually liked it. Not my favorite cake but it's better than what I thought it would be.

Not much of a story I know, but I just wanted to write something for the last day of 2017.
