This takes place a year after the Kagome comes back to the Feudal Era. I don't own Inuyasha or Kagome.
All was still in the small hut, as a lone figure lay sleeping in the center of the room. His nose twitched as he sub-consciously sniffed the air. His golden eyes flew open as he bolted up, frantically searching the room. He clawed at the space next to him, but he found nothing but empty sheets. He snatched his sword hanging at the side of his bed.
"Kagome! Kagome!" He cried out in a whisper. Hearing no reply, he ran out of the hut in a blur of silver and red. "Kagome! Dammit Kagome where are you?" Sniffing the air, he caught the scent he was looking for, and raced off into the forest. He flew through the trees, eyes darting like those of a crazed animal. The trees thinned, revealing a small stream in which a young woman stood. Her long black hair swayed in the wind as she bent over the water. She wore a white and red dress, that of a priestess. She washed her hands in the stream, as the ever so silent half-demon snuck behind her. Suddenly, the priestess found herself held bridle style in the air. She kicked and squirmed, then relaxed as she recognized her captor.
"Inuyasha." The priestess groaned as she began to squirm again. Inuyasha only tightened his grip, for if he let go, she might disappear. He nuzzled her neck,
"You scared me." He whispered, Kagome froze as brown eyes met gold. "I was worried, you gave me quite a scare when I couldn't find you." He said softly as he pulled her closer.
"Inuyasha, let me go!" Kagome whimpered, he only tightened his grip on her.
"I was afraid I'd lost you. Don't ever scare me like that again." He looked down at his mate's tiny face as she reached up and touched his cheek. She stared up into his big golden orbs.
"Inuyasha..." She whispered "It's alright, I'm right here." She clung to Inuyasha' s chest, burying her face in his robe.
He stood there holding her in his arms. "I know Kagome, and I'm never letting you out of my sight again." Inuyasha swore, walking back towards the hut. He held his bride close as he entered the hut, laying her back down on the cot.
"Inuyasha." The priestess groaned as he lay down beside her. Ignoring her, he wrapped his strong arms around her petite frame, securing her head against his chest. Sighing, Kagome gave up and snuggled closer to Inuyasha. The half-demon watched her as she drifted off to sleep, drawing her as close to him as he could. He smiled, a happy one filled with contentment. Kagome was his, and nothing was going to take her away from him...
