Summary: Troy and Sharpay have been best friends since they were kids. Though she's never admitted it to him, Sharpay has been in love with Troy for as long as she can remember. Then, one day, Troy falls for sweet new girl Gabriella. Not one to take things lying down, Sharpay begins to spend all her time plotting to break up the golden couple. One night, after a year of plotting, and finally realizing what a horrible person she's been, Sharpay vows to turn over a new leaf. She tries her best to forget about Troy, and spends her time doing the things she loved to do before her plotting days..but Sharpay soon learns that, no matter how hard you try to set some things free, sometimes, they come back.

Sharpay: best friend to Troy. Slight tomboy, but with a girly side. In love with Troy.
Troy: best friend to Sharpay, and the object of her affections. Boyfriend to Gabriella.
Gabriella: New girl in town. Neighbor to Sharpay. Girlfriend of Troy.
Ryan: Sharpay's brother and biggest confidant.
Taylor: good friend of Sharpay.
Chad: good friend of Troy. "Dating" Sharpay.
