Not only was he an intimidating sight, towering at an imposing six feet six inches tall, but his voracious stare made even the toughest individuals think twice about approaching him.

She was very petite in stature, but her poignant dark eyes and straight-forward personality made her come off as daunting and down right spooky to others.

While they looked like complete opposites, they were rarely seen apart. They always sat next to each other during class and they always chose each other for work which involved pairs. When partners were picked by the teacher, they always made sure to sit near one another. During breaks, they joined together like magnets. She would have an arm (or often both) wrapped around his waist as the tips of his fingers brushed along her delicate strands of hair. They always stood so close, like they didn't need anyone else invading their space.

Behind his cut-throat glare, his eyes softened when he was with her. She would cup his face between her tiny hands whenever he lowered himself to her level, and she would speak quietly to him. Some said it was like a mother speaking to her obedient child. Others remarked it was a language between two deeply devoted lovers. The true nature of their relationship was a mystery, but no one had the guts to ask either of them for confirmation.

The few times they were ever truly separated (P.E. class was the main culprit) it was painfully obvious that they desired no one else near them.

The students avoided him like the plague. He rarely had to say a word because his menacing size spoke volumes. Even teachers were nervous wrecks when they were within his vicinity. Bullies used to want to tease her because she looked so child-like and fragile - an easy target. Yet it didn't take long for rumors to spread like wildfire of how she was some kind of "witch." Along with her simple but imposing demand, "Stay away," was enough to keep future tormenters, and the general student body, at bay.

When they reunited, it was like watching long lost loved ones coming together. She would run up to him and he would go down on bended knee and scoop her into his arms. She'd lean against him and say something, too quiet for anybody to hear. He'd respond to her, being attentive to her questions and gestures. It was like they were in their own world, oblivious to those around them. Together, they looked genuinely happy.

Together, they were two missing halves always wanting to be whole.
