Willow Wand

Lily Evans tried again, swishing more recklessly than before, but it was no use. There were no sparks coming out of this one.

"Don't lose hope, Miss Evans. Some of wands take hours to decide its master. Hmm...maybe," and Ollivander went off searching in another pile of wands.

Maybe it was all a dream. Maybe she wasn't a witch and all of this had been a well rehearsed prank. Lily was about to turn to her parents, to tell them it was no use and of course she wasn't a witch, but Ollivander appeared once more with a quirky expression on his face.

"Maybe this one, Miss Evans." Lily took the wand from Ollivander's long hands. If this one didn't work she would walk right out of the shop, go home and shout at Severus for tricking her into believing she was a witch.

But, when Lily held the wand, a lovely warmth came over here. She relaxed her grip on the piece of wood, content that she would be able to control it. Without a prompt from Ollivander, she swished the wand in the air, creating bright scarlet sparks.

Her parents congratulated her and Ollivander gave her a weird smile before putting the wand back into its black box and giving it to her.

"Ten and a quarter inches and Willow. Excellent for charms work."

Lily was beaming. She couldn't wait to tell Severus.
