August was sitting on the communal couch reading The Maze Runner(what Dylan O'Brien drew her in)and inhaling a bag of choc chip cottage cookies when she heard the sound of Sam and Steve approaching. She could tell it was them because for a couple of war heroes when the pressure wasn't on and the stealth they were packing somewhere deep down wasn't needed they were hard to miss. Don't get her wrong she was in no parts supplying any stealth herself, it just amused her that when they were together they became giant muscly teenagers at a 5Sos concert.
As they approached the lounge area, after what she assumed was them filling up their water bottles to head down to the communal gym that tony set up for the resident superheroes. She popped her head up from the couch and announced her presence and was a little proud when Sam jumped but it soon disaster when she took stock of the hunky third companion that seemed to be glaring daggers at her, yup that was Bucky Barnes a.k.a The Winter Soldier staring at her like she had just announced she ate the souls of newborn babies or was Hitler himself. She didn't know whether to run and hide, sit stock still and pray he lost sight of her or throw a damn kitten at his grumpy face. Instead she sucked up her fear slapped on a smile and ventured around the back of the couch to introduce herself.
"Hey August, this is Bucky, Bucky this is August she's Tony's assistant" Steve said looking extremely nervous about his best friends current not so sunny disposition. "I'm really more of a baby sitter or life coach than an assistant, it's nice to meet you" nothing absolutely nothing came out of that chiseled face except the fire that was coming out of the glare he was sending her way, well this isn't awkward at all. "Okay dude nobody has glared at me this hard since I tripped Nerris Baker in the cafeteria in junior year, which was totally an accident by the way and even if it wasn't bitch had It coming. Did I do something to you? Because if I unknowingly tripped you I can assure you it was an accident, and offer you some of these delightful cookies as a peace offering" oh great going August you made it more awkward. Sam's mouth was practically hanging on the floor, Steve was actually face palming and Bucky looked a mixture of shocked and confused. "Okay not a cookie fan, that's alright a little weird but alright" she said as he made absolutely no move whatsoever towards the bag of cookies she was holding out but he did quirk his eyebrow at her, progress. Good she didn't offend him then, but then again he could be thinking about murdering you in your sleep assassin style. "Uh, ill have a cookie if you're offering" oh sweet Sam you blessing in disguise she thought as she held out the bag to him. "Sure, so you guys heading off to the gym?" Steve nodded while taking a cookie and saying his thanks. "Well enjoy punching your man pain away on inanimate objects boys, it was lovely to meet you Bucky, I think. I should head down and make sure Tony hasn't set the lab on fire, again, adios" she said as she made a break for the elevator as calmly as possible receiving a chuckle and a polite chorus of goodbyes and thanks from Steve and Sam and yet another quirked eyebrow from Bucky.
