Chap. 1: "Take your hands off of her!"
(This takes place in a VERY modern day time.)
As a girl walked down an ally she noticed 2 shadows on the ally walls. The shadows were wrestling around (apparently in a fight.)
The girl started to walk out of the alley but she was stopped… a person stood in front of her.
"Where are you going, missy?" the man said. The girl could not answer…she was terrified, what was he going to do to her?
"Well, where are you going?" the man said again. This time the girl knew she had to speak up. "I…. I-----" she was interrupted. "You're not going anywhere!" he said.
The man picked her up and threw her down on the ground, very hard. The girl started to scream. The man started to hit her and kick her and the girl just kept screaming stop.
"Take your hands off of her!" another male voice said. Finally, the girl thought! Somebody had come!
"Or, what? What will you do if I don't?" the man said.
"I'll do this!" the other male voice said.
The next thing the girl saw was a man lunging on the man that was hurting her.
Quickly the girl got up and ran out of the alley. She stayed right in front of the alley, though. She wanted to make sure that the person trying to help her came out alive.
It was about 10 minutes before the girl heard footsteps coming towards her. Oh, she hoped it wasn't the mean man coming to search for her! If it was, she was doomed a.k.a dead!
Finally she saw a man (the one that had helped her) come out of the alley…his hands dirty.
"You won't have trouble with him anymore, miss" the man said.
"Thank you so much! You saved my life" she said.
"No problem." The man said in a calm voice.
"I'm sorry for not introducing myself, my name is Logan" Logan said.
"Hi, I'm Emma, nice to meet you Logan" Emma said.
"What were you doing in an alley at this time of night?" Logan said.
"Umm…nothing…well…to tell you the truth, I don't know?" Emma replied.
Logan just smiled.
"Hey, wait" Logan said
"What?" Emma said.
"Do you have anywhere to go?" asked Logan.
"Umm…yes…sort of. You see, I live in a motel. I was trying to find a house for sale, a small one…And I did! I bought a house a few blocks from here…right now I'm staying in a hotel because I'm having the house painted and I'm getting the furniture put in it." Emma said.
"I see" Logan said.
"Why?" Emma asked?
"Um…well…I wanted to know if you wanted to come stay with me and my friends in a house 2 blocks away from here. It's just a few, mut--- friends of mine" Logan replied, trying not to reveal that he and his friends were mutants.
"Well, I would love to…but is there girls in the house?" Emma asked?
"Yes! Of course" replied Logan.
"Well, if there are other girls then yes, I would love to come stay with you all" Emma finally decided that it was okay, but just for a couple of nights!
