Rollover, get comfortable, close eyes and... What if when you open your eyes again something is there?! Eyes shoot open, sit up and look around. Again. Realize nothing is there, and then scowl into the darkness because you're too jumpy for your own good. I have repeated that pattern for at least the past hour and a half. Probably longer. And it was starting to get on my own nerves. So I was slightly surprised that the person next to me hasn't woken up but if I was going to be honest with myself he was probably awake and is trying not to say "I told you so". He rarely falls asleep before I do anyway. So when I heard a gruff "If you don't get still I'm going to tape you to the bed" coming from the right of me after I did the whole thing over again I wasn't surprised in the least. I groaned and flopped backwards onto my pillows, draping an arm over my eyes.

The quiet click of the lamp switch and I knew the room had light. The bed moved as he turned over to face me. I am not quite sure how long we laid there with me basically hiding my face and with him staring at me. But eventually he sighs and pulls my arm away from my face. I stubbornly continue to keep my eyes closed for a few more minutes before giving in and looking at him. The look on Loghains' face was a mix between amusement, exhaustion, and exasperation. After a few minutes of staring, well staring on his end and glaring on mine, he finally broke the silence with "I told you not to play the game before you tried to sleep. This happens every time."

My scowl was the only answer he was going to get. When he realized I wasn't going to give in and admit he was right he sighed and used the grip on my arm to pull me to his chest. My stubbornness melted in favor to comfort and I reluctantly, I can't seem too eager, wrapped my arms around him. With his strong arms against my back, holding me close, he kissed the top of my forehead "Must you always do things to spite me?"

"Well, next time don't tell me that playing a horror game before going to sleep is a bad thing. I take it as a challenge."

"You take everything as a challenge Vie."

"... There might be something to what you say." I had to hide my grin when the only response I got for that was an annoyed sigh. After a few minutes of silence I pick my head up and say "I think we should retry to sleep now." I glanced over his shoulder to look at the clock "It is after all almsot 2:30. And we kinda have to work tomorrow..." I hesitated for a moment and then went to pull away, his grip on me tighten for just a moment, only long enough for him to swoop down and kiss me lightly. I laid there, taken by surprise, long enough for him to roll over, turn the lamp off, roll back over, and wrap an arm tightly around my waist. He pulled me up against him and mumbled "Now, Amell, if you start moving again I will have to go get that tape." I chuckled, hesitated, then wiggled just to see what he would do. The grip on my waist tightened and he growled in my ear "Go to sleep wife." Smirking I got comfortable and closed my eyes. No voice in my head saying there might be something there. Just the breathing of the man with me and the sounds of the fans moving back and forth. Now I can sleep.
