(Scene: Erebor)

(There is no audio, only music and the voice-over.)

(Dwarves are entering through the Gates of Erebor, which are still in the process of being repaired.)

Older Bilbo: Over the next few months, Dwarves began to return to Erebor. For some, it was a happy reunion.

(Gloin enthusiastically embraces his wife and son, while Oin happily watches. Ori runs into the arms of a much older female Dwarf, who holds him and gently pats his head. Dori and Nori join them, putting their arms around both Ori and their mother.)

Older Bilbo: But for others…

(A middle age female Dwarf runs down a corridor and into a chamber, there is a look of desperate disbelief on her face. Balin and Dwalin enter the chamber behind her. The woman stares at three tombs that sit next to each other.)

Older Bilbo: …not so much.

(The woman's hand clasps an ornate locket around her neck. A moment later she wails in grief and despair, before sinking to the floor. Balin rushes forward and kneels beside her.)

Older Bilbo: Before his death, Thorin had said, "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.".

(Balin holds the still crying and wailing Dis.)

Older Bilbo: But, my dear Frodo, it would be a long time before any of us found the world merry again.

(End scene.)
